Brentford to Win

Reason for tip

Brentford have lost just one of their last six games while Fulham have won only one of theirs. The Bees won the reverse fixture 3-0 and recorded a 3-2 victory in this tie last season, suggesting the Cottagers, who have the fourth-worst away record in the Premier League this term, could be heading for defeat.

Brentford 2-1

Reason for tip

While Fulham look set for defeat, they have at least netted in their last six away games. Brentford have kept just tow clean sheets in their last 11 home games, so back the Cottagers to net in defeat at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Bryan Mbeumo To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Bryan Mbeumo is slowly getting back to his best following a lengthy spell on the sidelines and he could erupt back into life against Fulham, who have recently conceded three to strugglers Nottingham Forest and Sheffield United and who he netted a brace against in August.

Brentford vs Fulham Predictions

  • Brentford have lost only one of their last six fixtures and are on a four-match unbeaten streak at home
  • Fulham have won just one of their last six games and have lost seven of their last 11 away league outings
  • Both teams to score has been a winning bet in nine of the Bees’ last 11 home games and five of the Cottagers’ last six on the road

Bees can make home advantage count in west London derby

Brentford suffered a disappointing 1-0 loss at Everton last weekend but results elsewhere went in their favour and their place in next season’s Premier League has been confirmed, meaning it is all about ending the season on a high for the Bees now, starting with a visit from Fulham.

Thomas Frank’s side have been in decent form towards the end of the campaign and that loss at Goodison Park ended a five-match unbeaten run which included an impressive draw at high-flying Aston Villa as well as a convincing 5-1 victory over Luton.

Their home form is impressive too, having put together a four-match unbeaten streak at the Gtech Community Stadium which includes draws with giants Manchester United and Chelsea, and that own-patch advantage could make the difference in this London derby.

Cottagers could be in for more travel woes

Fulham, unlike their rivals, are ending the season with a whimper. The Cottagers have managed just one win in their last six matches, with that sole victory coming against a seemingly uninterested West Ham who were coming off the back of a difficult trip to Leverkusen.

Another factor against Marco Silva’s men is the venue of this match, with Fulham’s away form having been poor all term. They are 17th in the Premier League away table having managed just three wins in their 17 road games this season, and a trip to the Gtech could prove to be an unfruitful one, just as it was when the Cottagers lost 3-2 in this fixture last term.

The Bees won the reverse fixture 3-0 and with their absentee crisis easing – Ivan Toney and Bryan Mbuemo are both fit and firing now – they should be backed to beat Fulham again.

Mbuemo may leave his mark on Fulham again

Brentford ran riot in August’s reverse fixture, with Mbuemo stealing the show that day with a brace. The Cameroonian forward has netted eight goals in his 22 Premier League appearances this term and could continue his excellent season on Saurday.

Mbuemo scored on his first start since December when netting against Aston Villa early last month and has taken a combined four shots in the three games since. He is slowly getting back to his brilliant best and he could be set for a first standout performance since his lengthy injury against the leaky Cottagers.

Fulham have conceded 35 goals in their 17 away league games this term, recently shipping three to relegation candidates Nottingham Forest and Sheffield United on their travels, and could struggle to contain Brentford, and especially Mbuemo, in this west London derby.
