Everton to Win

Reason for tip

Everton have won their last three games at home to push themselves clear of the drop zone. Brentford have been beaten in nine of their last 12 away games and they lost at home to Everton earlier this season. They’ve suffered 11 away defeats in total this term, while the in-form hosts are making the most of home advantage at the moment.

Everton 2-1

Reason for tip

Brentford have scored in eight of their last nine league matches, while they’ve lost 2-1 on four occasions on their travels this term. Three of the last four meetings between these two have seen both teams score, so back Everton to claim a 2-1 victory having scored exactly twice in their last two at Goodison.

Dominic Calvert Lewin To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Calvert-Lewin scored when these two sides met earlier this season and the forward has looked good in recent weeks, scoring in three of his last four appearances. After his strike against Liverpool in midweek, Calvert-Lewin should cause Brentford some issues.

Everton vs Brentford Predictions

  • Everton have won their last three at home
  • Brentford have lost nine of their last 12 league trips
  • The Bees have suffered 11 defeats on the road in the Premier League this term
  • Calvert-Lewin scored in Everton’s 3-1 win at Brentford earlier this season

Vital game at the bottom

Both Everton and Brentford have probably done enough in recent weeks to secure their Premier League status. Brentford have put together a solid unbeaten run to move 10 points clear of Luton, while Everton have rallied despite a second points deduction and three wins from four have left them with an eight-point cushion.

Both sides should be confident of staying up, but Saturday evening’s clash is an opportunity for the victor to put things beyond doubt. There’s a little less on the line for the Bees, who will be confirmed as safe before kick-off should Luton lose. Could that allow Everton to claim another victory and add to a brilliant run at Goodison?

Fine week for Toffees

When Everton suffered a 6-0 loss at Chelsea on a night where their financial issues became cloudier, it was hard to have optimism for the Toffees. They say just two points clear of the drop following that drubbing, with relegation fears growing.

Sean Dyche’s side responded brilliantly across the last seven days, first picking up a 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest on Sunday. Their 2-0 victory against Liverpool in the Merseyside Derby was a huge boost, especially as it opened up a healthy gap between them and the bottom three.

Everton have now won to nil in their last three home games, suffering just two defeats across their last 10 league games at Goodison. Their eight-point hit has really changed the perspective around a solid campaign, as they’d be only four points shy of the top 10 with those points back on the board.

Calvert-Lewin can inspire hosts again

Everton’s fine winning run at home makes them good value for a win in this clash. While Brentford have looked stronger, they could well see themselves as safe already. The Bees also have a terrible away record this term, losing nine of their last 12 trips in the league. Thomas Frank’s side have lost 11 times on the road overall, while they were beaten at home by Everton back in September.

The Toffees have won their last two meetings with the Bees, with Dyche proving to be a real problem for Brentford since he arrived at Goodison. Everton have also won two of the last three clashes between the pair at Goodison, while they have an in-form forward who could make the difference.

Calvert-Lewin scored in the win at Brentford and he has netted in three of his last four appearances. With vital goals against Burnley and Liverpool at Goodison in recent weeks, the forward is proving his worth at a vital time. Back him to net in another home win for the Toffees, who are backed to edge this one 2-1.
