Ipswich and Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Ipswich have lost just one league match at Portman Road all season and they are also the division’s highest scorers, although they have conceded the same amount of goals as 17th-placed Queens Park Rangers and may offer up chances to a Huddersfield side that have scored in six of their last seven.

Ipswich 3-1

Reason for tip

Ipswich have scored at least three goals in 13 of their league matches at Portman Road this season and they can do so again against a Huddersfield side that have netted in all but one of their last seven games.

Ipswich vs Huddersfield Predictions

  • Ipswich will be promoted to the Premier League if they avoid defeat in this match
  • The Tractor Boys have only lost one home match in the league this season
  • Barring a mathematical miracle, Huddersfield’s relegation will be confirmed on Saturday

Ipswich’s top-flight return to be sealed

After claiming victory away at Coventry during the week, Ipswich will be promoted back to the Premier League for the first time in 22 years if they avoid defeat against Huddersfield and they can seal their top-flight return in style against their relegation-bound visitors.

Kieran McKenna’s side have lost just one league match on home soil all season – a 4-3 reverse against promotion rivals Leeds in August – with 15 of their 22 fixtures at Portman Road ending in victory.

The Tractor Boys are the highest scorers in the Championship with 90 goals, but they have conceded 57 times, the same amount as 17th-placed Queens Park Rangers.

Terriers heading for League One

Last weekend’s home draw with Birmingham all but confirmed Huddersfield’s relegation to League One, as they are now three points adrift of safety with a vastly inferior goal difference compared to 21st-placed Plymouth.

The Terriers have won just two of their 12 games under head coach Andre Breitenreiter and only bottom of the table Rotherham have conceded more goals in the second tier this season.

Huddersfield have at least scored in six of their last seven and they can do so again on Saturday, but they won’t be able to keep Ipswich out at the other end.

The hosts have scored three or more goals in 13 of their home matches this season and they can do so again by sealing promotion with a 3-1 victory.
