Liverpool and Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Unbeaten in their last 22 home games in the Premier League, Liverpool should see off Chelsea on Wednesday but the Blues can put up a bit of a fight and get on the scoresheet.

Liverpool 3-1

Reason for tip

Goals will likely be on the cards at Anfield with both teams having scored in seven of Chelsea’s ten away matches in the Premier League this season and a 3-1 win for the hosts could be the way to go.

Diogo Jota To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Diogo Jota has struck seven times in the Premier League this season and, in good form, he looks a decent bet to find the net against Chelsea.

Rampant Reds tough to stop on own patch

In their first match since Jurgen Klopp announced he will be leaving at the end of the season, Liverpool thrashed Norwich 5-2 in the FA Cup fourth round on Sunday and another Anfield victory could be on the cards when they host Chelsea.

Klopp’s announcement came as a surprise on Friday but he will be fully focused on the remainder of the season with the Reds still involved in four competitions.

And as it stands they are in the driving seat in the Premier League title race, having won 14 of their 21 league assignments this season.

That means they are five points clear of Manchester City, albeit having played a game more, and they should be fancied to beat the Blues.

Liverpool have been irrepressible on their own patch this season, winning eight and drawing two of their ten league assignments at Anfield.

Stretching back to last season, they are on a 22-game unbeaten run at home in the league and that is unlikely to come under threat from Chelsea.

Chelsea’s away struggles set to continue

The Blues can look forward to playing Liverpool in the final of the EFL Cup at the end of February but their performances in the Premier League leaves plenty to be desired.

They have won their last three league games against Crystal Palace, Luton and Fulham but two of those games were at Stamford Bridge and they had lost four of their six league fixtures beforehand.

Indeed, away from home Mauricio Pochettino’s men have lost four of their last five fixtures in the top flight and they could struggle with the trip to Merseyside.

That said, this game should not disappoint on the goals front and Chelsea should still cause Liverpool some problems.

High-scoring clash on the cards at Anfield

Despite their poor form on the road, Chelsea have scored in seven of their last eight away games in the Premier League, breaching the likes of Tottenham, Newcastle and Manchester United as part of that run.

And Liverpool’s rearguard has not exactly been impenetrable of late, having conceded goals against Norwich, Newcastle and twice against Fulham since the turn of the year.

With that in mind, a bet on a Liverpool win and both teams to score could be the best way to go, having clicked in all three of their home games in 2024.

A 3-1 win to Liverpool looks a wise correct score pick, while Diogo Jota makes an appeal in the goalscorer markets, having netted seven times in the Premier League this term.
