Achraf Hakimi 1+ shot on target

While PSG head to Villa protecting a lead, their full-backs aren’t likely to sit back and hold their positions. Hakimi has 11 shots on target across his 13 Champions League games this term, including two in the first-leg.

Nuno Mendes broke forward from left-back to score the crucial third goal in the last few minutes with PSG holding a 2-1 advantage, so the full-backs will push forward when PSG break. Given the threat Hakimi has been this term, he can work Emi Martinez.

Matty Cash to be carded

Villa need a lot from their own full-backs, which should see Emery start with Matty Cash despite his struggles in the first leg. Cash made four fouls for the first time this season in his clash with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

The full-back was hooked at half-time after being booked, as Emery looked to avoid going down to 10 men. Cash should get another shot, especially after replacement Axel Disasi didn’t fare any better. With Villa more inclined to attack, it’s worth backing Cash for another caution.

Ezri Konsa to make 1+ fouls

Konsa is just shy of evens to make a single foul, which is understandable given how disciplined the defender is. However, looking back at his displays this season, a theme starts to emerge.

Konsa has committed a foul in nine matches this season. In many of those games, Villa were pushing to get back into the game. It happened in their loss at Club Brugge, a home clash with Brighton in which they conceded after 12 minutes, and two home clashes with West Ham.

Konsa committed a foul against Monaco when Villa fell behind after eight minutes, while he made three in a home clash with Chelsea when the Villains fought back to win 2-1. With Emery’s side pushed high, Konsa is more exposed. He’s in no danger of a suspension, so he should take one for the team to stop PSG on the counter.

Given his 10 appearances at right-back, there’s a chance we can back him at close to evens before he spends time marking Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
