120/1 Ultimate Bet Builder for Chelsea vs Liverpool!

Before becoming a Sports Journalist for Free Super Tips, Aaron spent three years studying Sports Journalism at the University of Sunderland while taking in the Black Cats' 'glory years' under Martin O'Neill. Now back in Northern Ireland he turns niche stats into predictions for FST, while he's one of the few people on this island who is equally comfortable at Windsor Park and the Aviva.

There have been plenty of thrills across the opening weekend of Premier League action, but things could go to another level at Stamford Bridge on Sunday. There was already a lot on the line as Chelsea and Liverpool look to improve on dismal showings in 2022/23, but their Moises Caicedo battle has added some extra spice to their Super Sunday clash.

Not only has the Caicedo battle added some bad blood, but the prolonged deal has left the pair heading into Sunday’s clash without a ball-winning midfielder. That’s among our concerns over both defences, which prompted us to back a goal-fest in our Chelsea vs Liverpool predictions.

Following on from that, I’ve picked out five selections for the Super Sunday encounter which combine for a massive 124/1 bet builder hot on the heels of a 10/1 winner in Newcastle vs Aston Villa yesterday. Our tip has been priced up with Betfair and not only can you back it below, but new Betfair customers can get £40 in free bets through this link:

Mohamed Salah to score

Chelsea are suffering an injury crisis in defence, with Wesley Fofana, Trevoh Chalobah and Benoit Badiashile all ruled out. Levi Colwill looks to have made the left centre-back spot his own, he’ll be partnered by either debutant Axel Disasi or 38-year-old Thiago Silva.

Silva seems the more likely to feature, which is a duel Salah should relish with his pace. Thomas Tuchel said upon his arrival to Stamford Bridge in 2021 that Silva was too immobile to feature in a back four, so two-and-a-half years on he’s the weak point that Salah can exploit.

Of course, the Egyptian doesn’t need a favourable match-up to make an impact. He hit 29 goals across all competitions last term and has seven career goals against his former club, while he has found the net in the opening Premier League game in all six seasons with the Reds.

Nicolas Jackson to score or assist

There were some raised eyebrows when Chelsea moved for a forward who was a whisker away from joining Bournemouth in January, but excitement has grown after some great preseason displays.

Jackson isn’t just a confident finisher – something which the Blues have lacked for years – he’s also a fantastic link-up man. He scored twice in preseason but he also chipped in with a team-high three assists.

Jackson seems to be a real confidence player and he’s coming off a brilliant finish to the season with Villarreal. He’s found himself with an extra attacking burden following Christopher Nkunku’s injury but given how he’s looked so far, he should impress on his Premier League debut.

Carney Chukwuemeka 1+ shot on target

Nkunku’s injury has created a gap at number 10, which is most likely going to be filled by Carney Chukwuemeka. The former Aston Villa midfielder had a good preseason and he was hard done by last term, with his game time limited under four different managers.

He got just 63 minutes in his favoured attacking midfield role but the 19-year-old has shown how talented he is. He’s flying under the radar for the moment but given that he’s likely to start in a very advanced role for the Blues against a Liverpool defence which isn’t convincing, take the value on Chukwuemeka to have a shot on target.

Conor Gallagher to be carded

Chelsea head into this game without a foil for Enzo Fernandez at the base of midfield, leaving Gallagher the most likely to fill that more defensively-minded role. It doesn’t entirely suit the midfielder, who has a real eye for goal, while it plays into one of his weaknesses.

Gallagher was booked nine times last term, the most of any Chelsea player. The summer exodus from the Bridge means the closest remaining player to him had four. That raises questions about the intensity of this Blues squad, so in a holding role Gallagher could be extremely busy. Back him to pick up a card on Sunday.

Alexis Mac Allister to be carded

Mac Allister finds himself in a similar position to Gallagher, he’s likely to be the deepest midfielder despite that not being his best role. The Argentine was booked eight times for Brighton last term and that could be an issue as he’s likely to hold the fort for Dominik Szoboszlai’s forward runs.

Given that setup, Mac Allister looks like a great option to be carded in this clash.
