129/1 Experts' Acca & 57/1 PL Mega among Saturday's winners

Before becoming a Sports Journalist for Free Super Tips, Aaron spent three years studying Sports Journalism at the University of Sunderland while taking in the Black Cats' 'glory years' under Martin O'Neill. Now back in Northern Ireland he turns niche stats into predictions for FST, while he's one of the few people on this island who is equally comfortable at Windsor Park and the Aviva.

After a dreary international break, what better way is there to mark the return of the Premier League than landing a 57/1 PL Mega Accumulator? Well, our experts’ went one better, also combining for a 129/1 Experts’ accumulator tip.

You can take a look back over Saturday’s Experts’ acca selections here, while we have six tipsters back again to serve up their best picks for Sunday’s action.

Below we’re looking back over Saturday’s brilliant winners, starting with that Experts’ acca.

FST’s experts land massive acca

Selections

  • Metz double chance vs Lens
  • Sunderland to win at QPR
  • Stuttgart to win at Mainz
  • Ipswich to win at Sheffield Wednesday
  • Juventus to win vs Lazio
  • Wigan to win vs Cambridge

Results

  • Lens 0-1 Metz
  • QPR 1-3 Sunderland
  • Mainz 1-3 Stuttgart
  • Sheffield Wednesday 0-1 Ipswich
  • Juventus 3-1 Lazio
  • Wigan 2-1 Cambridge

This acca kicked off in Italy with the early Serie A kick-off and Juventus delivered, racing into a 2-0 lead after just 26 minutes. The pair scored a goal each in the second half, but the result was basically secured before the 3pm kick-offs got underway.

In Germany, Mainz left it late to take charge of their clash at Mainz. After a goalless 55 minutes, Stuttgart took the lead, only to be pegged back 13 minutes later. However, a late rally from the visitors saw them score in the 84th and 97th minute to secure the victory.

In our three 3pm selections, Wigan scored twice in the second half to see off Cambridge 2-1, while Ipswich scored just before half-time in a 1-0 victory at Sheffield Wednesday. Sunderland had a tougher time, going 1-0 down before their former player Jack Colback was sent off for QPR. From there, the Black Cats dominated against 10-men and ran out 3-1 winners.

The final selection from the acca came in Ligue 1, where Lens’ continued their torrid start to the season with a 1-0 home defeat by Metz, landing our Metz win or draw double chance selection!

Late drama secures 57/1 Premier League mega

Selections

  • Over 2.5 Liverpool goals at Wolves
  • Over 2.5 goals in Aston Villa vs Crystal Palace
  • Fulham to win vs Luton
  • Brighton double chance at Manchester United
  • Tottenham to win vs Sheffield United
  • Over 3.5 goals in West Ham vs Man City
  • Newcastle to win vs Brentford

Results

  • Wolves 1-3 Liverpool
  • Aston Villa 3-1 Crystal Palace
  • Fulham 1-0 Luton
  • Man United 1-3 Brighton
  • Tottenham 2-1 Sheffield United
  • West Ham 1-3 Man City
  • Newcastle 1-0 Brentford

This acca had the new extra-time rules to thank, as a string of late goals got this one over the line. The acca started with the early kick-off at Molineux, where Liverpool rallied after going 1-0 down to win 3-1. Wolves scored an own goal in the 91st minute to get the first leg over the line.

Brighton’s win at Man United was one of the more straightforward legs in the acca, with the Red Devils going 3-0 down to the Seagulls on their own patch. Elsewhere, Fulham claimed a vital win over Luton with Carlos Vinicius stepping into the goalscoring gap left by Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Aston Villa trailed 1-0 at home to Palace late on, but they spurred a late turnaround with an 87th-minute equaliser. They got out in front – and landed our selection – thanks to a 98th-minute Douglas Luiz penalty. The Villains even found time to add a third on 101 minutes. Saturday’s Bet of the Day pick was over 2.5 goals in this clash which landed at 10/11.

We had more late drama at the London Stadium, as Erling Haaland’s 86th-minute strike put Man City clear of West Ham and landed our over 3.5 goals tip.

However, the best late winner came at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where Spurs trailed 1-0 seven minutes into injury time. Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski secured the latest turnaround in Premier League history, which kept our acca marching on to the final leg.

The last leg was tense, but not quite as dramatic as Callum Wilson’s 64th-minute goal secured a vital win for Newcastle to land our 57/1 mega acca.
