Liverpool vs Manchester United Cheat Sheet
Liverpool vs Manchester United Ultimate Bet Builder
Mohamed Salah to score anytime
Mohamed Salah has scored in three of his last five appearances for Liverpool and the forward has a stellar record against Man United. He’s scored in five consecutive meetings with the Red Devils and his haul of 10 goals is the highest tally for any Liverpool player against United.
Marcus Rashford to have two or more shots on target
Marcus Rashford has been in fine form for United with seven goals in his last eight games. The England international only has one in his last three outings, however, so backing him to test the keeper twice rather than score looks the best option. Rashford averages 2.8 shots-per-game overall in the Premier League and gets just under half his attempts on target (1.3 per-game). His output has increased over his last 10 games with an average of 3.4 shots-per-game, so he should be able to register two on target at Anfield against a Liverpool defence lacking confidence.
Luke Shaw to be shown a card
Luke Shaw is expected to return to the Manchester United defence after sitting out the midweek FA Cup win over West Ham through injury and he could well be a contender to be shown a card. Shaw has four bookings in 20 league appearances this season and is averaging 1.5 fouls-per-game. Given Liverpool’s pace in attack, Shaw may have to resort to a bit of gamesmanship to keep their forwards quiet and that may well result in a booking.
Fabinho to be shown a card
From a Liverpool perspective, Fabinho stands out as a card candidate as he is likely to be involved in a physical midfield battle with compatriots Casemiro and Fred.
Fabinho has five bookings in 22 league appearances and three of those have come in his last three games, meaning he has four yellow cards in his last six games across all competitions.
Manchester United to receive the most cards
Liverpool have the superior disciplinary record as they average just 1.1 yellow cards per-game to United’s 2.2.
The Red Devils have received more bookings than Liverpool in five of the last six meetings between these two teams at Anfield, so backing the visitors to receive the most cards stands out.
