Like a team flying out of the blocks in the early stages of the season, FST’s tipsters have been in top form since the return of elite football and Friday night was no exception as we landed four football tips to get the weekend off to a flyer!

This followed on from a night of winners last Sunday and an even bigger success a few days before!

Two accumulators headlined proceedings, but there was also a continuation of our Bet of the Day streak and an overnight winner to celebrate!

Late goals galore as 19/2 accumulator lands

Unlike the plain sailing we experienced on Sunday, Friday night left us sweating as we awaited late goals across the continent. Let’s take a look at how it went:

Our tips:

  • Nottingham Forest to win (vs Sheffield United)
  • Both teams to score (Leeds vs West Brom)
  • Over 2.5 goals (Metz vs Marseille)
  • Valencia to win (vs Las Palmas

The results:

  • Nottingham Forest 2-1 Sheffield United
  • Leeds 1-1 West Brom
  • Metz 2-2 Marseille
  • Valencia 1-0 Las Palmas

Our evening began at The City Ground in Nottingham and it’s there we were made to wait the longest, despite Taiwo Awoniyi getting Forest off to a flying start in the first five minutes. Blades newcomer Gustavo Hamer levelled the scorelines, though, and it took until the 89th minute for a dominant home side to notch a late winner, coming via Chris Wood’s head.

Up at Elland Road, we just needed a goal for each team but as the second half began it was still 0-0 and not looking promising. An opener for West Brom in the 52nd minute improved our outlook and our second leg landed on 72 minutes as Luke Ayling scored an equaliser.

At the same time, we were keeping tabs on our French leg at the Stade Saint-Symphorien. An early goal for Marseille made us cautiously optimistic but it wasn’t until after the hour mark that the goals really started to flow. Cheikh Sabaly brought Metz level and our leg landed six minutes later as the hosts took the lead. Vitinha salvaged a point for Marseille soon after, but we didn’t care by that point!

Our final kick-off had us in the orange groves of Spain as Valencia sought three points against Las Palmas, but the lead didn’t come as easily as the hosts might have expected. Fortunately, their pressure eventually paid off as Pepelu scored from the penalty spot and Valencia saw out the win to land us a tasty acca!

15/2 Both Teams to Score acca relies on late goals again

Our evening started a little earlier for our Both Teams to Score Accumulator but once again we were left waiting for the goals to flow.

The results:

  • Heracles 2-1 NEC
  • Leuven 1-1 Antwerp
  • Leeds 1-1 West Brom
  • Casa Pia 1-2 Sporting

Our acca started in the Dutch city of Almelo and things got off to a promising start as visitors NEC took the lead, but it took until the 61st minute for Heracles winger Emil Hansson to level the scores and land our first leg.

By that point, our Belgian leg had kicked off and it was the visitors who struck first again, with former Spurs man Vincent Janssen putting Antwerp ahead. However, the second goal came even later as Leuven, despite dominating, only salvaged a point on the 82nd minute.

We already covered the game at Elland Road, but we were still left waiting on our late kick-off in Portugal. Fortunately, this went a little smoother than the rest as Paulinho put Sporting ahead early doors before Casa Pia levelled early in the second half, with Paulinho restoring Sporting’s lead just a few minutes later.

Bet of the Day streak continues & an overnight winner!

Our Bet of the Day for Friday was both teams to score in the Leeds vs West Brom game and, as we saw above, it was a roaring, if nervy success.

This continued an incredible run of winners in our Bet of the Day tips, with 11 of the last 13 tips landing!
