Celta Vigo vs Real Sociedad

(KO 11:00)

Sunday’s Matchday 10 action kicks-off at Balaidos, as 4th placed Real Sociedad make the trip to Galicia to take on 17th placed Celta Vigo.

Early season form and the league table certainly favours the visitors in this clash, however Txuri-urdinak have only won three of their last 25 games away to Celta which makes this contest a difficult one to judge.

We certainly think that the opening exchanges will be close – the sides have conceded just six first half goals between them this term and have been level at the break in 10 of their combined 18 league games.

With those stats in mind, a half time draw looks the way to go here to get punters up and running for the day.

Granada vs Real Betis

(KO 13:00)

Newly promoted Granada have been the story of the season so far and are looking to land their sixth win of the campaign when Granada host Real Betis at Los Carmenes in Sunday’s second game.

With this week’s El Clasico between top two Barcelona and Real Madrid postponed, Diego Martinez’ side can temporarily go top of La Liga if they manage to seal the three points – a huge incentive which we think can drive them onto victory against Los Verdiblancos, who are currently toiling in the bottom three.

Like Sunday’s morning kick-off though, we expect this to be a tight affair in the early stages with Granada scoring just three goals and conceding none in the first half of their four home games to date this term.

With Betis netting just two first half goals on the road so far, backing no goals to be scored in the opening 30 minutes stands out and means we don’t have to hold out all the way through the referee’s half time whistle.

Levante vs Espanyol

(KO 15:00)

The third match on Sunday pits 11th placed Levante against second bottom Espanyol, who are hoping to turn the corner under new manager Pablo Machin.

Periquitos face a difficult task here though as Levante are unbeaten in their last ten home La Liga matches, including two wins and two draws posted at Ciutat de Valencia this season.

And Granotas have been pretty prolific in front of goal during that run. Whilst they only managed to score once across both of their last two home games, they bagged at least twice in the previous eight.

Considering Espanyol have conceded twice in five of their nine La Liga outings this term, backing Levante to score over 1.5 goals appeals as a great bet here at around even money.

Sevilla vs Getafe

(KO 17:30)

The sides that finished 6th and 5th respectively last season clash at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan in match four, and Getafe’s trip to Sevilla is arguably the highlight of Sunday’s La Liga roster on paper.

This is likely to be more fascinating than thrilling though, with a low scoring encounter on the cards. Four of the last five meetings have produced fewer than 2.5 goals, whilst that’s also been the outcome in 12 of the 18 league matches played by the pair this season.

One notable trait of Sevilla this term is that they take a while to get going. It took Julen Lopetegui’s men 48 minutes to break the deadlock at home to Luxembourg outfit F91 Dudelange in the Europa League on Thursday and all four of their home La Liga fixtures thus far have been level at half time.

With Getafe losing just one of their last eight La Liga games and likely to demonstrate their typical stern resistance, backing a half time draw is the obvious alternative pick in this one, similar to Sunday’s opener at Balaidos.

Osasuna vs Valencia

(KO 20:00)

You’ll have noticed by now that close, low scoring games could emerge as the main theme this Sunday and that’s also how we expect the final match of the day to play out at El Sadar between Osasuna and Valencia.

13 of the sides’ 18 combined league outings so far this season have produced fewer than 2.5 goals, whilst the hosts have drawn five of their nine matches since returning to the top flight.

Osasuna are defensively solid but don’t cause much of a threat going forward – particularly early on in games. Amazingly, Jagoba Arrasate’s side have managed just one first half goal in their nine games, which pales in comparison to Valencia’s eight first half strikes.

So if either side is to draw first blood, it’s highly likely to be Los Che. Backing Valencia to score the first goal in Sunday’s closing fixture at around the even money mark.
