We got a little taster of elite football returning last week as the English Football League kicked off but this weekend it’s a return to the big time as the Premier League, Spanish La Liga and German Bundesliga all get underway for the 2021/22 calendar.

Manchester City start the defence of their Premier League crown on Sunday at Tottenham, while Bayern Munich kick things off in Germany when they face Gladbach on Friday and Atletico Madrid will be hoping to take advantage of Barcelona’s woes to defend their title, starting with a trip to Celta Vigo on Sunday.

Following on from our huge 5,246/1 outrights acca that started last weekend, we’ve put together a more modest 30/1 offering for the four leagues raising their curtains this Friday.

Did you miss last week’s action? Don’t worry, you can still get on that tasty six-fold acca at 4,221/1 here!

FST’s 30/1 season outrights acca

Premier League – Manchester City

It’s hard to back against a side that strolled to the Premier League title by 12 points before splashing the cash on a £100 million player in the summer, and that’s exactly what Manchester City did.

Their odds could shorten further if Pep Guardiola gets his hands on Harry Kane, but even if they don’t their extraordinary depth and flexibility across the pitch makes them by far the most well-rounded and complete side in the top flight.

Liverpool showed exactly how much an injury crisis can effect a club when they have a relatively shallow squad and no other side comes close to the strength in depth of Manchester City.

Spain La Liga – Atletico Madrid

Atletico Madrid were surprising winners of La Liga last season but it would be less of a shock to see them retain their title after Lionel Messi’s earth-shattering departure from Barcelona.

El Clasico rivals Real Madrid have lost Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane over the summer and key players such as Toni Kroos and Luka Modric are ageing.

Atletico Madrid, by contrast, have managed to keep their title-winning squad together for the most part and with Diego Simeone at the helm you can be sure their back-line will remain as watertight as they come. And you know what they say: Attacks win you games, defences win you titles.

Germany Bundesliga – RB Leipzig (to win without Bayern Munich)

It’s hard to recommend any team in the outright winner market considering Bayern Munich’s dominance but take the Bavarian titans out of the equation and RB Leipzig look an appealing prospect.

Nearest challengers Borussia Dortmund have lost Jadon Sancho over the summer and while RB Leipzig have lost a couple of key figures of their own they have managed to capture Andre Silva from Eintracht Frankfurt.

He will be reunited with manager Jesse Marsch and if he can come close to replicating the 28-goal season he enjoyed last term they have a real chance at another silver medal.

Netherlands Eredivisie – Ajax

They might be odds-on favourites but it’s impossible to oppose Ajax. They finished 16 points above nearest rivals PSV last season and have managed to keep their title-winning squad together, even adding Feyenoord winger Steven Berghuis to their ranks and further weakened their rivals.

Feyenoord ended up some 29 points off the pace last term and are unlikely to threaten de Godenzonen, while PSV have lost star man Donyell Malen to Borussia Dortmund and the only other side that came close – AZ Alkmaar – have seen both Myron Boadu and Calvin Stengs depart.

It could be another landslide victory for the Amsterdam giants.
