Before becoming a Sports Journalist for Free Super Tips, Aaron spent three years studying Sports Journalism at the University of Sunderland while taking in the Black Cats' 'glory years' under Martin O'Neill. Now back in Northern Ireland he turns niche stats into predictions for FST, while he's one of the few people on this island who is equally comfortable at Windsor Park and the Aviva.
Gone are the days of a long mid-season break in the Champions League. The competition’s league phase is barely behind us but the knockout rounds begin on Tuesday night.
We’ve called in some experts to give us their early picks from the midweek card. You can see their selections – and their combined 22/1 acca – below!

Tip: PSG to win and over 3.5 goals vs Brest
PSG thumped Brest 5-2 when these two sides met at the start of the month and they’ve won their last five away trips. The French champions’ last five on the road have finished 4-2, 2-1, 4-1, 5-2 and 2-0, so they tend to win comfortably on their travels.
Brest lost 3-0 at home to Real Madrid in their last Champions League game but they were unfortunate not to score given the chances they created. As a result, back PSG to win a high-scoring game.

Tip: Juventus to win vs PSV
Juventus to see off PSV in the home leg of their Champions League playoff on Tuesday. This pair have already met in this season’s competition at the Allianz Stadium and the Old Lady eased to a 3-1 victory.
PSV have only three wins in their last nine away games and Juve have lost only twice in 17 attempts at home this term.

Tip: Both teams to score in Monaco vs Benfica
I’m predicting a wide-open game between Monaco and Benfica on Wednesday, with both teams seeing this as a great opportunity to reach the last-16 of the Champions League.
BTTS is around 8/15 – Benfica averaged two goals per game in the League format, while Monaco have scored 17 goals in their last seven home matches.

Tip: Real Madrid to win at Manchester City
There is so little to commend City at the moment and the Spanish league leaders will simply keep their shape and then cause carnage against an untrustworthy home backline whenever they can.
