Manchester City begin their title defence at Chelsea on Sunday in arguably the standout game in the first batch of Premier League fixtures.
We caught up with a few of our experts to ask where they think the betting value lies ahead of the heavyweight encounter at Stamford Bridge.
Ian Wilkerson
I’ll go for a straight City win. The organisation at Chelsea seems crazy even by their recent standards and it’s hard to pin down what sort of team they will put out. The champions should at least be settled, efficient and ready to go, so I expect them to take three points.
Tom Hill
Chelsea have shipped goals in pre-season, so Erling Haaland to score two or more has to be considered. He scored twice in the first meeting between the two clubs last season and netted a hat-trick in the 4-2 pre-season win in the United States. After enjoying a summer break, he should be fit and firing.
Warren Ashurst
If you include the recent pre-season friendly, there have been five penalties in the last six meetings between the two sides. You can get 13/8 for there to be a penalty at the Bridge on Sunday….Cole Palmer will hope it’s for his current team against his former club.
