Following Wyndham Clark’s US Open victory in California on Sunday, the PGA Tour stars are out in force again for the latest designated event, the Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands in Connecticut.

The DP World Tour also resumes in Germany this week, with the BMW International Open at Golfclub Munchen Eichenried, and our golf expert Joe Champion has picked out a 337/1 each-way double.

Travelers Championship winner prediction – Xander Schaufelle at 12/1

Scottie Scheffler, Jon Rahm and Rory McIlroy would all have been disappointed to varying degrees with their performances at the US Open and the top three in the world rankings can be taken on in the Travelers this week.

Xander Schauffele would’ve also been unhappy with his failure to capitalise on an opening 62 at LACC but he does have some added motivation this week as he bids to defend the title at TPC River Highlands.

Schauffele’s victory last season came following a sustained run of solid results and that’s the case again this time as he heads to New England having finished no worse than 24th in his last eight individual starts.

The Californian flew out of the traps at LACC, and while he was underwhelming from Friday onwards, tenth place in a Major still counts as a solid performance.

The winner this week will have to putt well and Schauffele has gained strokes on the greens in all but one start this year. His long game remains solid and he looks the most attractive option of the market-leaders.

BMW International Open winner prediction – Pablo Larrazabal at 25/1

Munchen Eichenried has hosted the BMW International Open from 1997 to 2011, then in odd-numbered years until 2019, splitting hosting duties with Golf Club Gut Larchenhof. The tournament was cancelled in 2020 but returned to this course in 2021 and then again when Haotong Li won last season.

Pablo Larrazabal has won the International Open twice, at this course on both occasions, and the Spaniard looks an obvious candidate to contend once again having claimed DP World Tour titles at the Korea Championship and the KLM Open this season.

Larrazabal’s chances are obvious and he’s clearly in fine form despite missing the cut at the US Open. This track, where precision and a hot putter can go a long way, obviously suits as evidenced not just by his two wins but by last season’s fifth-place finish.
