Daily TV games accumulator

West Ham vs Leicester – Monday 23rd August, 20:00

Where to watch: Sky Sports Main Event

West Ham played their part in a 4-2 thriller at Newcastle last weekend and goals should be on the cards for their first home match of the season.

Leicester have seen both teams score in each of their last seven Premier League away games and had the third-best attacking record in the top-flight last season, while only Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United have scored more goals than the Hammers since David Moyes took charge for the second time.

Best bet – Both teams to score

Barrow vs Aston Villa – Tuesday 24th August, 19:45

Where to watch: Sky Sports Main Event

73 league positions separate these two sides as Premier League Aston Villa pay a visit to The Dunes Hotel Stadium in Barrow-in-Furness and it’s hard to imagine the top-tier visitors leaving with anything other than a comfortable win.

Barrow fell to their second defeat of the season at Harrogate on Saturday and were knocked out of the EFL Cup at the first time of asking last year against Derby. Aston Villa did lose to Stoke in this competition last year but after getting their first win of the season against Newcastle on Saturday I’m expecting them to stroll to victory on front of a sell-out crowd.

Best bet – Aston Villa to win

West Brom vs Arsenal – Wednesday 25th August, 20:00

Where to watch: Sky Sports Main Event

West Brom may have been relegated last season but they certainly don’t seem to be harbouring any lingering lack of confidence. Their 2-1 win at Blackburn made it three wins and a draw from their opening four matches and they have scored an impressive 11 goals in the opening few weeks of the season.

Arsenal kicked their campaign off with a dismal performance against Brentford and despite making it to the EFL Cup quarter-finals last season they have still only won two of their last six games in this competition in normal time.

Best bet – West Brom double chance

AZ Alkmaar vs Celtic – Thursday 26th August, 19:15

Where to watch: Premier Sports 1

AZ Alkmaar may have lost some of their shining lights over the summer but there is still plenty to like about this side, although they will have to make full use of their home advantage if they are to turn things around against a Celtic side that beat them 2-0 in Glasgow last week.

The Glaswegians have won each of their last six competitive games and followed up their midweek success with a 6-0 demolition of St Mirren. The caveat? All but one of these games have been at home. Away from home they have only won one of three games this season and AZ won their last seven home games last season. I can see the Dutch side making a game of this.

Best bet – AZ to win

Borussia Dortmund vs Hoffenheim – Friday 27th August, 19:30

Where to watch: Sky Sports Mix

What better way to kick off the bank holiday weekend than an absolute goalfest.

Borussia Dortmund opened their season with a 5-2 demolition of Frankfurt but have come unstuck since then, losing to Bayern Munich in the German Super Cup before a shock defeat to Freiburg on Saturday. Hoffenheim, meanwhile, have taken four points from two relatively easy Bundesliga games,

But the result isn’t what we’re here for. We’re here for goals, and that looks a very promising look. Dortmund have seen both teams score in all three of their matches so far, both scoring and conceding seven goals in this short period of time. Hoffenheim have seen a total of eight goals in two matches and both teams have scored in 12 of the last 14 meetings between these sides.

Best bet – Both teams to score

Liverpool vs Chelsea – Saturday 28th August, 17:30

Where to watch: Sky Sports Main Event

The second in a double-header of huge Premier League matches on Saturday, Liverpool vs Chelsea sees two of the teams most likely to challenge for Manchester City’s title face off at Anfield.

It’s a tough one to call, but I fancy Chelsea to get something from this game. Liverpool have looked impressive so far but the Blues have won five of their seven meetings with the so-called Big Six since Tuchel came on the scene and at the time of writing they are 1-0 up at Arsenal. They have only lost three league games under the German boss and I expect them to avoid defeat at Anfield.

Oh, and Romelu Lukaku vs Virgil van Dijk? Yes please.

Best bet – Chelsea double chance

Rangers vs Celtic – Sunday 29th august, 12:00

Where to watch: Sky Sports Main Event

Both of these sides are in European action in midweek but you can be certain that one eye will be on the first Old Firm Derby of the season in Glasgow.

Rangers are unbeaten against their arch rivals in the last six meetings and the reigning Scottish champions have bounced back from a dismal start to the campaign by winning their last three games in all competitions. Celtic are on a six-match winning streak but form often goes out of the window in the cauldron of the Old Firm and it’s worth noting that five of those wins have come at home.

Away from home they have only won one of three this season and their recent record in this most important of matches puts them on the back foot here.

The last time under 3.5 cards landed in an Old Firm game was almost four years ago. They have faced off 16 times in all competitions since then and seen 80 yellow cards and nine red cards dished out. The markets aren’t up yet, but the cards market is where I’ll be looking as soon as they’re available!

Best bet – Rangers to win
