All eyes will be on Anfield on Sunday afternoon, where old enemies Liverpool and Manchester United meet for what promises to be a nerve-shredding top of the table tussle on Merseyside.

For the first time since the Sir Alex Ferguson era, United will travel to Anfield as Premier League leaders, though a clash with current champions Liverpool will provide Solskjaer’s pretenders with the stiffest possible test of their title winning aspirations.

Best OddsBoost selections for Liverpool vs Manchester United

@FST – Salah, Mane and Fernandes to have 2+ shots on target

Was: 12/1 –> Now: 16/1

With Liverpool desperate for the win as they look to eradicate the gap at the top of the table, we’re expecting to see an open and entertaining game at Anfield.

These are the two leading scorers in the Premier League and both possess an extraordinary array of attacking talent, but none are more influential going forward than this trio of players.

Mohamed Salah has hit the target at least twice in four of his last seven top flight appearances and averaged 1.6 shots on target per game – slightly ahead of Sadio Mane’s still impressive 1.3 per game. Bruno Fernandes splits Salah and Mane down the middle with 1.5 shots on target per game and has hit the target twice or more in each of his last two outings.

Liverpool to win 2-0 or 2-1

Was: 7/2 –> Now: 9/2

Manchester United have been staggeringly consistent on the road over the past year, though beating Liverpool in the Premier League at Anfield has proved an impossible task for any top-flight team since 2016.

United’s last league defeat on the road in fact, came at Anfield in a 2-0 reverse in January 2020. Liverpool have developed a habit for scoring in twos on Merseyside again this term, and having notched exactly twice in four of their last seven home wins in all competitions, the Reds look capable of netting another brace on Sunday.

Bruno Fernandes & Mohammed Salah to have 1 or more shots on target from outside the box each

Was: 9/2 –>Now: 13/2

Talismanic figures Bruno Fernandes and Mohamed Salah both rank top of the pile for Man Utd and Liverpool respectively when it comes to attempts on goal this season.

Fernandes is averaging 3.2 shots per appearance this term, while Salah has averaged 3.4 shots per run out for the champions. Both match-winners love a punt from range, and as two of the Premier League’s most accurate shooters, we’re backing them to test the goalkeepers at either end from outside the box at least once on Sunday.

Best #OddsOnThat selections for Liverpool vs Manchester United

@FST – Liverpool to win, Mane and Fernandes to score, Shaw to be carded

Odds: 45/1

  • Liverpool have won their last 11 home Premier League games against fellow big six teams.
  • Sadio Mane has scored four goals in his last five competitive appearancs.
  • Bruno Fernandes leads the Manchester United goalscoring charts with 11 top flight goals this season.
  • Luke Shaw has been booked in his last three appearances and will be tasked with stopping Mohamed Salah

Liverpool to win, both teams to score; 3+ corners for each team & 2+ cards for each team

Odds: 10/1

  • Liverpool have taken a whopping 177 points from the 201 available since their last Premier League defeat at Anfield since 2016.
  • Liverpool are winning 6.5 corners per Premier League home match on average this season, while United are racking up 5.06 corners per fixtures on the road.
  • Tensions are expected to be high at Anfield in this top of the table skirmish. Four players were booked when United last visited the red half of Merseyside in January last year.

Liverpool HT/FT, Man Utd first goal kick & 6+ second half corners

Odds: @13/1

  • Liverpool have been leading at half time in five of their eight Premier League home games this season.
  • The Reds have won seven and drawn one of their eight league home assignments overall this term.
  • Liverpool are expected to come out of the blocks quickly on Sunday, and with the early play likely to be largely in United’s defensive third, the visitors are worth backing to take the first goal kick.
  • Only Leicester have won more second half corners at home than Liverpool (29) so far this season
  • Liverpool have won more second half corners overall than any other team in the division (64).

Mohamed Salah & Sadio Mane to score, Luke Shaw & Fred to be carded

Odds: 40/1

  • Mohamed Salah is Liverpool’s leading Premier League goalscorer this season with 13 goals in 16 appearances.
  • Sadio Mane – who is the Reds’ second highest scorer in the league this term – has scored twice for Liverpool against Man Utd in previous games.
  • No Man Utd player has been booked in the Premier League more often than Luke Shaw (four) this season, and the tough tackling left-back was cautioned on his last appearance at Anfield.
  • Holding midfielder Fred meanwhile, has collected three yellow cards this season and only Paul Pogba (1.7) has committed more fouls per league game for United than the Brazilian (1.7) overall.
