PSG head to London for the first leg of their Champions League semi-final aiming to continue a good run against English sides. The French champions have taken out Liverpool and Aston Villa in the previous two rounds, but this could be a step too far.
In addition to our Arsenal vs PSG predictions for Tuesday’s clash, I’ve taken a look at the player markets to put together a massive 208/1 Ultimate Bet Builder, which you can back below!
Arsenal vs PSG Ultimate Bet Builder
Gabriel Martinelli to score anytime
Martinelli is enjoying a strong run in the Arsenal side, helping to offer attacking threat to a side who are operating without a recognised striker. The Gunners are set to move Mikel Merino back into midfield on Tuesday, with Leandro Trossard stepping up as the focal point of their attack. That switch could offer more space to Martinelli, who has been getting in good positions of late.
The winger has had a shot on target in five of his last six games, while he’s scored in two of his last three appearances. The Brazilian found the net in Arsenal’s win at the Bernabeu, while he had a team-high two shots on target in the win over PSG in October. For all of the quality in this PSG side, Achraf Hakimi can be a weak-link defensively, so Martinelli is backed to find the net.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to have 3+ shots
PSG’s January addition of Kvaratskhelia has been good, with the former Napoli winger seamlessly fitting into their front three. He’s been good in this European run, including a blistering first-half display against Villa in the first leg of the quarter-finals.
Kvaratskhelia has recorded at least three shots in his last four Champions League games, all of which have came against English opposition. He’s had five shots in three of those, including the opening games of both ties. The Georgian averages 2.94 shots per 90 minutes in Ligue 1, so back him to have a few efforts at goal.
Jurrien Timber to be carded
Timber is fortunate to be available for this clash, having racked up five fouls in the win at Real Madrid. The Dutchman went into that game a caution shy of a suspension, a tight rope he’s been walking since the first leg of their last 16 clash with PSV.
UEFA has an amnesty on cautions after the quarter-finals, so Timber can afford a booking on Tuesday and still feature in the return leg. As the club’s leader in fouls in the Champions League this term, he’s a good bet to be cautioned, especially if he endures the same treatment Matty Cash had at right-back against Kvaratskhelia in the first leg.
Bukayo Saka to make 2+ fouls
Saka will pose plenty of problems for the PSG defence, but the winger is responsible enough to track back against a PSG side who have a lot of attacking threat from full-back.
Saka has made at least two fouls in four of his last six Champions League games, including October’s meeting with PSG.
Myles Lewis-Skelly to be fouled 3+ times
Lewis-Skelly is showing impressive maturity for an 18-year-old playing at this level, while he has a fearlessness in the way he inverts from left-back and moves into central midfield against top European sides.
The full-back was able to draw five fouls in the Bernabeu, making him Arsenal’s second-most fouled player in Europe this term. He’s drawn 18 fouls in seven appearances since the international break and he can increase that tally here. When he picks up the ball and drifts inside, he’s likely to meet Joao Neves, who leads PSG in fouls in Europe this term.
