Born in the south east of Ireland, Simon put his life-long love of football to good use when he started a successful independent blog in 2010. Current form seems to fly out the window when your club meets their bogey team, and every club has that one annoying opponent that they just can’t ever seem to get the better of.
This weekend, up and down the English football pyramid, a number of teams are gearing up to face a nemesis they just can’t quite ever defeat, and we have some bogey team betting tips lined up below with that in mind.

Bogey team predictions and betting tips
Everton vs Burnley (Premier League)
Betting tip: Everton to win
Burnley’s away record is among the Premier League’s worst this season, and if their performances on the road weren’t enough to back against them on Saturday, then their recent results at Goodison Park will certainly persuade you.
The Clarets were beaten on each of their last two trips to the blue half of Merseyside and Burnley were conquered on four of their last five visits there overall since 2015.
Derby County vs Millwall (Championship)
Betting tip: Millwall double chance
Derby County’s resurgence under Wayne Rooney has slowed in recent weeks, and the Rams dropped points in each of their last four Championship runouts during a disappointing spell.
Millwall, who were undefeated in four of their last five trips to Pride Park, are searching for their third victory on the spin on Derby’s patch, and Gary Rowett’s side are worth backing to enjoy more success on what has been a happy hunting ground.
Blackpool vs Fleetwood Town (League One)
Betting tip: Blackpool to win
Blackpool have hit a rich vein of form in League One, and the Seasiders look favourites to push their unbeaten run to seven games when they host Fleetwood Town on Saturday.
The Cod Army were left floundering after each of their last four visits to play Blackpool at Bloomfield Road, and the Tangerines are priced brilliantly to beat Fleetwood for their fifth time in a row on home soil this weekend.
Leyton Orient vs Scunthorpe United (League Two)
Betting tip: Scunthorpe United double chance
Leyton Orient have long found Scunthorpe to be the most stubborn of visiting sides, and The O’s haven’t managed to beat their bogey team in nine straight home meetings with them since 2002.
The Iron avoided defeat against Orient in each of the teams’ last five encounters overall (home and away), and having beaten them 2-0 in the sides’ reverse fixture in December, more points should be on offer in Saturday’s rematch.
Port Vale vs Bolton Wanderers (League Two)
Betting tip: Bolton Wanderers to win
Bolton have powered up the standings in League Two thanks to a superb surge of seven wins from eight assignments, and Wanderers’ incredible record at Vale Park suggests another victory is in the offing.
Bolton have lost just once in 17 visits to Port Vale’s stomping ground, and with the hosts reeling following a run of seven matches without a win, Ian Evett’s promotion chasers can succeed there again.
