Christian Eriksen has shortened to 6/4 to join Manchester United this summer after confirmations emerged that the club have offered the former 30-year-old Brentford player a deal.

Eriksen, who returned to action in January after suffering a cardiac arrest during Denmark’s Euro 2020 game, was pivotal in securing an impressive 13th-place finish for Brentford in their maiden Premier League campaign, with the Bees winning seven of the 11 matches featuring the Dane and Eriksen. His contract expires at the end of this month.

Brentford are thought to be keen on extending his stay after his successful spell but former club Tottenham Hotspur remain favourites to land the playmaker at 1/1, while a move to the flush Newcastle United isn’t out of the question at 18/1.

So far, the Denmark international has kept his cards close to his chest, telling Viaplay: “I have different offers and options…

“I would love to play Champions League football again. I know how much fun it is, but it isn’t essential for me.”

It certainly seems like a return to Tottenham, who finished fourth in the Premier League, would be his preference should an offer materialise, but there’s no denying the creator would improve Manchester United significantly.
