EFL predictions, betting tips and best bets

Charlton vs Blackpool (League One)

Betting tip: Blackpool to win

Lee Bowyer is a man under pressure in the Charlton hotseat and his team’s stuttering promotion challenge could be hit another bump against in form Blackpool.

The Addicks were toppled at home by Burton in midweek, while Blackpool, who have enjoyed a full week between games took maximum points in four of their last five assignments.

Crewe vs Sunderland (League One)

Betting tip: Sunderland to win

Sunderland are fed up of unfulfilled promises and false dawns, however, Lee Johnson looks ready to lead them out of League One and the Black Cats can power their push for promotion with another win on Saturday.

Only three visiting teams have beaten Crewe at Gresty Road this season but Sunderland, who have momentum following a string of three wins, can add their name to that list of victors.

Peterborough vs Wigan (League One)

Betting tip: Peterborough to win

Wigan stole three points at Bristol Rovers on Tuesday despite mustering just four attempts to their host’s four, though the relegation candidates could have the rug pulled out from under them at Peterborough.

The Posh, who have won five games on the spin, have the title in their sights, and they should prove too powerful a force for Wigan to resist.

Bolton vs Barrow (League Two)

Betting tip: Bolton to win

Bolton are climbing the League Two table at a rate of knots following a run of four straight wins and Wanderers can maintain their vertical charge with a victory over relegation candidates Barrow. The Bluebirds have tasted defeat on the road more often than any other team in the division this term.

Carlisle United vs Oldham (League Two)

Betting tip: Carlisle United to win

Oldham had their confidence knocked on Tuesday when they lost at home to bottom club Barrow and the Latics could be in for another day of disappointment when they visit Brunton Park. Carlisle have a superb record in home meetings with Oldham and they can enhance that further on Saturday.

Scunthorpe vs Cheltenham (League Two)

Betting tip: Scunthorpe United to win

Cheltenham have a rotten record at Glanford Park and the Robins were shot down on each of their last seven visits to play their bogey team there. Scunny had won four league contests in a row before their midweek misstep against Bolton, though they are worth backing to get back on track against Cheltenham.
