Experts' Best Bets: 5 top tipsters pick out huge 74/1 accumulator for Saturday!

Sports Journalist at FST, Gareth qualified as a journalist after graduating from university and spent over a decade as a freelance broadcast journalist, commentator and tipster before joining FST. Now living in Manchester, he is a long suffering Bolton Wanderers fan who also enjoys boxing, the NBA, tennis and rugby league.

The weekend is upon us once again and that can mean only one thing: FST’s experts, along with a trio of top tipsters from Racing Post, have put their heads together in an attempt to unearth the very best value from Saturday’s myriad of fixtures.

This week, the Racing Post’s James Milton, Dan Childs and Joe Casey have joined forces with FST duo Aaron Rogan and Gareth Freeman to put together a 74/1 five-fold covering League One, League Two and the National League.

Bristol Rovers vs Northampton Town – Northampton to win at 7/4

Northampton have risen to third place in League Two after four consecutive victories to nil and the Cobblers look a big price to take three points at Bristol Rovers.

The Gas have lost four of their last five home matches in all competitions, conceding 11 goals during that run, and their confidence won’t have been boosted by a 5-3 midweek EFL Trophy loss at Exeter, where they were 5-0 down at half-time.

Accrington Stanley vs Plymouth Argyle- Plymouth to win at 6/5

Promotion-chasing Plymouth are unbeaten in 15 League One games since a 2-0 loss away to Rotherham on the opening weekend of the season and can move to the top of the table by defeating mid-table Accrington at the Wham Stadium.

Ryan Lowe’s side have an FA Cup first round replay at home to Sheffield Wednesday to prepare for next Tuesday, but the league is their number one priority.

They should make the long trip full of confidence and are likely to be too strong for John Coleman’s Stanley, who are substantially weakened by the absence of suspended centre-forward Colby Bishop.

Joe Casey

Ipswich Town vs Oxford United – Ipswich to win at 5/5

Ipswich had a poor start to the season but have turned a corner recently, taking 13 points from their last 18 available. Their only loss in that run was to highflying Plymouth and the Tractor Boys can continue their good form.

Oxford have been in decent nick too, and this should be a high scoring affair with Ipswich the top scorers in the division with 34 and the U’s no slouches either with 26 this season.

However, Oxford’s form has not held up as well on the road. They’ve taken 20 points from home games and just seven on their travels, so Ipswich are fancied for a victory at Portman Road.

Aldershot vs Grimsby – Grimbsy -1 at 11/5

Aldershot are in terrible shape and have lost all seven of their home games this season, including a 5-0 defeat to Wrexham in midweek. They’ve lost 11 of their 14 matches this term overall and the Shots are expected to struggle again when third-placed Grimsby visit on Saturday.

The away side have won two of their last three trips. Those were two narrow wins at mid-table sides, but there should be more daylight between them and the second-bottom hosts in this clash.

Aldershot have failed to score in over half of their home games and they’ve conceded 2.4 per game, so back Grimsby with a -1 handicap.

Exeter vs Oldham – Exeter to win at 8/11

Exeter sit fourth in League Two and appear to have finally found a way to turn draws into wins. The Grecians have won each of their last three games in the league and have four wins in their last five overall – and that looks like a bad sign for visitors Oldham. The Latics are winless in their last five games in all competitions (D2, L3) and have lost nine of their 15 League Two games so far, more than any other side in the division, and it would be a shock result if they were to deny Exeter all three points here.
