The Cheltenham Festival is a race meeting unmatched in terms of widespread popularity with racing and sports enthusiasts alike.

All good things, sadly, must come to an end and the last day of the Festival takes place on Friday. Henry Hardwicke is back for the last time of 2024 to run us through his hot tips for the final day of racing action from the Cotswolds.

We’ve put together a huge 10,724/1 Super Mega Accumulator using five of his tips and all of his selections can be found below and on our horse racing tips page in the guise of accas, doubles, best bets and combined with our football tips. All prices quoted are with bet365, where new customers can claim up to £30 in free bets to use on Cheltenham Festival.

Cheltenham Festival 2024 Final Day Expert’s Best Bets

1.30 Triumph Hurdle

Best Bet: Storm Heart

The form of the Nicky Henderson stable is a major concern and that has seen Triumph Hurdle favourite Sir Gino drift markedly in the betting.

An each-way alternative looks the way to go and Storm Heart could be the answer. Not much went right for Willie Mullins’ runner at Leopardstown last time out, but these conditions should see him to better effect.

2.10 County Handicap Hurdle

Best Bet: L’Eau Du Sud

Langer Dan became the first horse to be crowned a dual Coral Cup winner on Wednesday and Dan and Harry Skelton can strike again in a handicap hurdle by landing the County with L’Eau Du Sud.

The six-year-old ran a cracking race when finishing second in the Betfair Hurdle at Newbury last time out and there could be more to come on just his sixth start under rules.

2.50 Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle

Best Bet: Johnnywho

Johnnywho is crying out for a step up in trip after finishing behind Gidleigh Park and Captain Teague in his two hurdles starts this season and the three mile journey in the Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle can see Jonjo O’Neill’s charge turn the tables on those rivals.

3.30 Gold Cup

Best Bet: Fastorslow

A peak Galopin Des Champs will win the Gold Cup, but Willie Mullins’ charge has put in a series of big efforts this season and perhaps there is an each-way alternative.

Fastorslow was given an easy time behind Galopin Des Champs last time out, but he has twice beaten the reigning champion and the jumping ability of Martin Brassil’s eight-year-old may prove the deciding factor.

4.10 Hunters’ Chase

Best Bet: Its On The Line

Its On The Line and Ferns Lock look the clear best in the Hunters’ Chase and conditions look to have turned things in favour of Its On The Line.

The deep ground may have blunted the speed of Ferns Lock and Its On The Line looks good value to grind out victory.

4.50 Mares’ Chase

Best Bet: Limerick Lace

Limerick Lace will get the testing conditions she craves in the Mares’ Chase and Gavin Cromwell’s charge looks a solid each-way alternative to market leader Dinoblue.

The seven-year-old was mighty impressive when winning at Doncaster last time out and Limerick Lace could still be improving.

5.30 Martin Pipe

Best Bet: Waterford Whispers

The final race of the 2024 Cheltenham Festival can go to Waterford Whispers. Mike O’Connor takes the ride for Henry De Bromhead in the Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle and the unexposed and improving six-year-old looks to hold a huge chance.

Waterford Whispers is likely to be well-suited by the likely strong pace in this big-field handicap, and after only four career starts, it’s unlikely we have seen the best of what the six-year-old has to offer.
