Ian Wilkerson

Oxford vs Portsmouth – Oxford at 27/20 with bet365

Strong home Championship results have helped Oxford creep away from the relegation zone and while there will be disappointment that they didn’t claim a fifth successive Kassam Stadium win against Bristol City last time out, they can get back to winning ways against Portsmouth.

City finished their visit with just nine men in the 1-1 draw two weeks ago, but Oxford, now under the guidance of the experienced Gary Rowett, had won four at home before that, including key victories over strugglers Cardiff, Plymouth and Luton.

Pompey have recovered from a poor start after promotion, but they have made little recent headway on the road, losing their last seven matches on their travels and have claimed just one away Championship game all season, so John Mousinho’s outfit look vulnerable.

Gareth Freeman

Sheffield Wednesday vs Coventry – Coventry win at 7/4 with bet365

It took a while for Coventry to get going under Frank Lampard but they’ve clicked into gear over the last few weeks and look a decent price to inflict a rare defeat on Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough.

Cov hit a last-gasp winner in their midweek victory over QPR and that kind of result can give teams a bit of momentum going into the next game. The Sky Blues have five wins in their last six league games and Wednesday are in mixed form with just two wins in their last eight.

Coventry needed penalties to edge out the Owls in the FA Cup recently, but they’ve hit their stride since and can win this league meeting outright in South Yorkshire.

Alex Hilton

Cambridge United vs Exeter – Cambridge at 21/20 with bet365

Exeter have been in freefall in League One and they look vulnerable to bottom side Cambridge United this Saturday.

The Grecians have won just one of their last ten matches in all competitions, and are in danger of being dragged into the relegation scrap.

Cambridge have struggled for much of the season but performances have improved recently with only two defeats coming in their last six league matches for Garry Monk’s men.

Four points from their last two home games against Mansfield and Wycombe suggest there may be more improvement to come, and Exeter won’t be relishing the long trip and early kick-off following their draining FA Cup fourth-round clash with Nottingham Forest on Tuesday, which went to extra-time and ended in a penalty-shootout defeat.

Aaron Ashley

Leyton Orient vs Lincoln – Leyton Orient at 5/6 with bet365

A run of one defeat in 13 has put Leyton Orient on the cusp of the League One playoff places and they can enhance their promotion ambitions further with a home victory over Lincoln.

Orient’s easy 3-0 win at home to Mansfield on Tuesday was their tenth success in their last 13 league outings while they also made reigning Premier League champions Manchester City work hard in a 2-1 defeat in the FA Cup fourth round last weekend.

Lincoln were held to a 1-1 draw at home to basement boys Cambridge last weekend and they head to the Gaughan Group Stadium having won only one of their last 11 away league matches.

Matthew Ireland

Blackburn vs Plymouth – Plymouth or draw double chance at 23/20 with bet365

It’s amazing what a few positive results can do for a team’s confidence and Plymouth are riding the crest of a wave right now.

They’ve dumped Premier League leaders Liverpool out of the FA Cup, drawn 2-2 at Sunderland and beaten West Brom 2-1 and Millwall 5-1 in the league in their last four matches, and I can see them getting at least a point from their trip to Blackburn.

The Pilgrims are 23/20 in the double-chance market and that looks a fair price.

Alex Wrigley

Marseille vs St Etienne – Marseille to win & BTTS at 8/5 with bet365

Marseille may be ten points adrift of Ligue 1 leaders PSG, but they have won seven of their last ten in the league and are unbeaten across their last five at the Orange Velodrome. They are justified favourites against the relegation-threatened St Etienne, who have picked up a mere two points from 23 available away from home this season.

That being said, the underdogs have scored in their last four trips and should be able to grab a consolation against a Les Phoceens side that haven’t kept a clean sheet at home since September, shipping 13 times in eight games since then.
