What a week it’s been with the return of the Champions League and Europa League, but the action is far from over as we look forward to another jam-packed schedule of domestic action in the UK and beyond.
But with such a heavily-laden fixture list it can be difficult to know where to start. That’s where we come in, with the FST experts being joined by a trio of Racing Post tipsters to root out the very best value around this Saturday.
Our experts have turned a profit in each of the last three weekend instalments of Experts’ Best Bets and Saturday sees the return of the most in-form tipster on the block. Dan Childs has started the campaign in blistering fashion, winning six of his seven selections to post a healthy profit of 6.08 units!

Manchester City vs Southampton – Manchester City over 2.5 team goals at 4/6
A lot of fuss was made over Manchester City’s failure to sign a striker in the summer but that certainly isn’t hampering Pep Guardiola’s side at the moment.
They suffered back-to-back defeats at the start of the season but have well and truly come alive since then. Their six-goal haul against RB Leipzig in midweek made it 17 goals in their last four competitive games and incredibly they have scored five or more goals in each of their last four competitive home games, including a trio of 5-0 wins in the Premier League.
Southampton will have their work cut out to stop the hosts. They have conceded six goals in their four league games so far and their last trip to the Etihad ended in a 5-2 drubbing. In fact, Southampton’s last two trips to Manchester have seen them ship 14 goals in total.

Fulham vs Reading – Fulham -1 handicap at 21/20
Reading have lost all three of their away games this season, shipping nine goals in those defeats. In just seven games this season they’ve conceded at least three times on four occasions. That’s not a good sign ahead of this trip to the title favourites.
Fulham are certainly living up to their billing and they’ve looked a cut above the rest during the early stages of this campaign. The Cottagers have won four of their last five matches by a two-goal margin or greater, so back them to cruise by Reading this weekend.

Huddersfield vs Nottingham Forest – Huddersfield to win at 21/20
Huddersfield have won four of their last five in the Championship and look well placed to maintain their good form at home to rock bottom Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
Forest have just one point to show from seven games so far made the move to sack boss Chris Hughton after their 2-0 defeat to home to Middlesbrough on Wednesday.
A manager’s dismissal does occasionally inspire a reaction from the squad, but Forest’s problems run deeper than just poor management and I still think the Terriers look good value for a win here.

Exeter vs Sutton United – Exeter to win at 5/4
Exeter made a slow start to the League Two season but they are unbeaten in five matches and should be too strong for Sutton at St James Park.
The Grecians were hampered by early-season injuries but have stepped forward in September – drawing 0-0 at home to leaders Forest Green and winning 4-0 at Scunthorpe.
Their front three – attacking midfielder Matt Jay and forwards Sam Nombe and Jevani Brown – has huge potential and could allow them to deliver a serious promotion push.
Sutton’s aims are to establish themselves in League Two but their long trip to south Devon could be a fruitless enterprise.

QPR vs Bristol City – QPR to win at 5/6
QPR suffered their first Championship defeat of the season on Tuesday, losing 2-1 at promotion hopefuls Bournemouth, but there was much to admire about a performance in which they had nearly 60 per cent of possession and six shots on target to their hosts’ four.
The Hoops had taken 12 points from their previous six league matches and Mark Warburton’s men, who are averaging more than two goals per game this term, are worth backing to bounce back at home to Bristol City.
The Robins have made a solid start to the season but may come up short against a QPR side who have won nine of their last 14 home league matches.

Burnley vs Arsenal – Arsenal to win at 19/20
Arsenal have had a well publicised difficult start to the season, but are over most of the injury issues that they experienced early doors and racked up 30 shots in their 1-0 win over Norwich.
Burnley have been disappointing this year, throwing away leads against Brighton and Everton and being beaten 2-0 by Liverpool. Sean Dyche’s side lack creativity and scored the lowest number of goals of any side to stay up last season.
The Clarets haven’t improved that side of the game much in the close season and Arsenal can turn the corner with their trip to Turf Moor.
