Before becoming a Sports Journalist for Free Super Tips, Aaron spent three years studying Sports Journalism at the University of Sunderland while taking in the Black Cats' 'glory years' under Martin O'Neill. Now back in Northern Ireland he turns niche stats into predictions for FST, while he's one of the few people on this island who is equally comfortable at Windsor Park and the Aviva.
It’s been a busy week of football and Sunday is no exception, with big clashes from all the top European leagues. With so much to go through we’ve called in three Racing Post tipsters to get their best bets.

Aston Villa vs West Ham – West Ham win at 29/20
West Ham’s excellent run continued as they knocked Manchester City out of the Carabao Cup for the first time since 2016 in midweek. They have now won six of their last eight in all competitions and kept six clean sheets in the process, pushing them into the Premier League top four and leaving them in a fantastic position to progress in Europe.
Aston Villa, by contrast, head into this weekend having lost their last three Premier League matches and conceded eight goals in the process. Another Hammers win is on the cards and these odds look irresistible.

Cercle Brugge vs Antwerp – Both teams to score at 4/6
12 points split these two in the Belgian top flight, but both look good for a goal in their clash on Sunday. The hosts are second-bottom after making a miserable start, but they’ve at least seen both teams score in nine of their last 11 league games.
Cercle Brugge have been let down by their defensive record, but the visitors aren’t excelling in that department despite sitting fourth in the table. Antwerp have seen BTTS land in nine of their 10 trips this term and in eight of their last 10 league games, so backing goals in this one looks like a good way to go.

Real Sociedad vs Athletic Bilbao – Sociedad to win at 11/10
Real Sociedad go into this round of La Liga fixtures as the pacesetters in Spain’s top tier and at home they have been incredibly solid.
La Real have won four of their five league games at the Anoeta and are yet to concede on home soil, although Monaco did manage to find a way through in a 1-1 draw in the Europa League.
Sociedad have dominated the Basque derby in recent years with three wins and a draw in their last four meetings with Athletic Bilbao and they can claim the bragging rights again on Sunday.

Troyes vs Rennes – Rennes to win at 19/20
Back-to-back victories over Nice and Reims have propelled Troyes outside of the Ligue 1 relegation zone, but Rennes can bring their winning run to an end.
Rennes have collected 13 points from their last five league matches, conceding only once during that period, and that purple patch includes a 2-0 win at home to runaway leaders Paris St-Germain.
Bruno Genesio’s team were convincing 3-0 winners at Metz on their last road trip and look good value to follow up at 15th-placed Troyes, who have suffered five defeats from their opening 11 games.

Roma vs AC Milan – Milan draw no bet at 11/10
Roma’s second-string side were humiliated by Bodo/Glimt in the Europa Conference League recently but this weekend their first team could be outdone by title-chasing Milan.
Under Stefano Pioli, Milan are making great strides in Serie A with nine wins and one draw from their opening ten fixtures.
They have already beaten Lazio and Atalanta and held Juventus to a draw this season and are worth backing in the draw no bet market against another of the league’s bigger sides.
Roma could be missing Leonardo Spinazzola and Chris Smalling at the back for this contest and have managed only one win in their last four contests.

Sassuolo vs Empoli – Sassuolo to win at 7/10
Sassuolo scored an injury-time winner away to Juventus in midweek and they look solid favourites to complete a hat-trick of Serie A victories at home to Empoli on Sunday.
Italy international Domenico Berardi is in fine form, with four goals in his last six appearances, and Sassuolo have competed well against some tough teams, beating Juve and losing narrowly to Roma, Atalanta and Inter.
Empoli look less intimidating opponents, having lost six of their first ten league matches this term, conceding an average of two goals per game.
