We’ve got the game covered in our dedicated Match Predictions section, and now we’ve called on our team of experts for their best bets ahead of the last four showdown in Dortmund.
Together, their four tips form a 74/1 Bet Builder. I’ve used Betfair to slip-up the bet and new customers can take advantage of their sign-up offer using the button below
74/1 Netherlands vs England Experts’ Bet Builder
Aaron Ashley – Cody Gakpo To Have 2+ Shots On Target 7/2
Liverpool supporters will be hoping that they get to see the Netherlands version of Cody Gakpo this season as he has been an absolute pest throughout the tournament.
He has had 12 shots across his five matches, eight of which have hit the target and that has resulted in three goals. It would have been four had the winner against Turkey not been given as an own goal by Mert Muldur.
So the 25-year-old may be worth backing to have a couple of shots on target against the Three Lions – Switzerland’s Breel Embolo had two on target from five efforts in the quarter-final – while the 7/2 about him getting on the scoresheet may also be a tad overpriced as well.
James Milton – Netherlands To Receive The Most Cards 11/10
The Netherlands are worth backing to pick up more cards than England in Dortmund.
It has been a frustrating tournament for the Three Lions but they have largely kept their discipline and four of their five opponents ended up with more bookings than them.
Only three yellow cards were shown to the Netherlands’ three Group D opponents and, while four Dutch players were cautioned in their quarter-final against Turkey, Harry Kane was the only England man booked in 120 minutes against Switzerland.
Joe Casey – Harry Kane To Score Anytime 15/8
Harry Kane has received plenty of criticism throughout this tournament but he has still netted two of England’s five goals. Kane may not be in top form in Germany but his record is undeniable and has 65 in his career for his country, making him England’s all-time leading scorer, so side with him to find the net at what looks a generous 15/8.
Gareth Freeman – Xavi Simons To Score Or To Be Shown A Card 9/5
Netherlands midfielder Xavi Simons has to be a contender for the Young Player of the Tournament award and I’m expecting him to do something in the semi-final with England.
Simons hasn’t scored yet but he is averaging a respectable 1.6 shots-per-game, a statistic that doesn’t include the goal chalked off for offside he scored in the group stages against fellow semi-finalists France. The 21-year-old was booked in the previous round and averages 1.2 fouls per-game, and he picked up 11 cards in the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig last term.
I’m leaning more towards a booking than a goal but there is value in backing both eventualities at 9/5 here. My thinking is Simons will be looking to impose himself on the game one way or the other, and that could result in either his first tournament goal or his second tournament booking – perhaps even both.
