The FA Cup third round always throws up a few surprises and this year certainly didn’t disappoint.

Newcastle were rocked by League One Sheffield Wednesday and Aston Villa were eliminated by Stevenage, while both Leeds and Liverpool face tricky replays after drawing their weekend clash.

But with the fourth round draws now made, who have been the big movers in the FA Cup outright market?

Is the FA Cup heading back to Manchester?

Manchester City were 10/3 favourites for the cup ahead of the third round and after a dominant display against Chelsea they have been backed in to 5/2, although a tricky fourth round meeting with Premier League leaders Arsenal has stopped that movement in their tracks somewhat.

However, Manchester United have seen a huge move from 10/1 – which put them as fifth favourites before the third round – to 9/2 after a favourable home tie against Reading was drawn out of the hat.

Defending champions drift after Wolves draw

2021/22 FA Cup champions Liverpool failed to live up to their favourites tag at Anfield as Wolves held them to a 2-2 draw and that replay, along with the fact that the winner of that tie will face a trip to Brighton, has seen Jurgen Klopp’s side drift from 6/1 – second favourites – out to 9/1.

Elsewhere, Arsenal have gone from 7/1 to 9/1 despite their dominant win over Oxford United on Monday thanks to a tough fourth round tie with Manchester City.

Tottenham, who beat Portsmouth in the third round, have been backed in from 8/1 to 7/1 and could hold some value considering they have drawn Preston in the next round.

Could this be the year of the outsider?

Our FA Cup winner outsider tip, Brighton, are one of the big movers in the market after demolishing Middlesbrough. They have been backed from 25/1 to 14/1, despite facing a tough fourth round meeting with either Liverpool or Wolves.

Leicester face a much easier trip to Walsall for their fourth round tie but, despite this, the Foxes have drifted out to 33/1 from their pre-third round price of 25/1.

West Ham, on the other hand, have been hammered in to 20/1 from 33/1 after eliminating Brentford and drawing Derby County in the fourth round.
