Who to Bench
Newcastle Attackers
The relegation candidates may have notched three against Manchester United in midweek, but I wouldn’t go rushing out to buy their attacking players just yet. They host a West Ham side who have conceded just four goals in their last nine games and could well be found struggling for a goal on Saturday.
Swansea Defenders
The bargain basement defenders of Swansea looked like they were back to their old ways a few weeks ago, but they let four goals in against Sunderland in midweek and face a Watford side who regularly impress up front.
Wayne Rooney
The pricey striker may have notched four goals in his last three games but I wouldn’t buy him just yet. Manchester United face a tricky trip to Anfield and it’s likely that Louis van Gaal will set his team up to avoid defeat.
Who to Buy
Dimitri Payet – Price: 7.9 Million
West Ham’s recently recovered attacking superstar bagged an assist and a goal in midweek against Bournemouth and faces a trip to a Newcastle side who conceded three against Manchester United on Tuesday. He had a long injury layoff but seems to have slotted right back in since coming back.
Harry Kane – Price: 9.9 Million
Tottenham Hotspur’s talismanic striker hosts Sunderland this weekend. The visitors conceded two against the offensively out of form Swansea in midweek and can see Spurs netting a few in this match.
Dele Alli – Price: 5.5 Million
Tottenham Hotspur’s newest hot prospect is an absolute bargain at 5.5 million. He has picked up 84 points already this season and could definitely pick up a few more when they host Sunderland this weekend.
Benik Afobe – Price: 6.1 Million
Bournemouth’s new signing is likely to lead the line against a defensively poor Norwich side on Saturday. He’s a bargain at 6.1 million and is going to be the spearhead to Bournemouth’s relegation battle this season.
West Ham Defenders
West Ham have kept five clean sheets in their last nine outings in all competitions and come up against a Newcastle side who have failed to score in four of their last five. The Hammers also face Aston Villa in a couple of weeks.
