Let’s take a look at this week’s form guide selections:

England

Blackburn Rovers

After three wins on the spin and four victories in five Championship matches overall, Blackburn Rovers have been hurtling vertically up the standings at a rate of knots in recent weeks.

On Saturday, Rovers take on one of the clubs they have rocketed past in the table, Derby County, at Ewood Park in what looks another winnable game.

The stuttering Rams were beaten to nil in each of their last four Championship away matches, and County took maximum points just once in nine attempts on the road in total since the summer.

Oxford United

Oxford United have been performing well in three separate domestic competitions of late, and their positive progress in both the EFL and FA Cup have been a complementary bonus to their superb League One form.

Oxford are unbeaten in 10 League One matches in total, winning seven and drawing the other three of their games during an impressive streak, and on Saturday they will be out to maintain their momentum at Shrewsbury Town’s expense.

The Shrews make the trip to the Kassam Stadium having won only one of their last six league games as the visiting team, and we think Town will be found wanting again in their latest assignment in Oxfordshire.

Plymouth Argyle

Plymouth Argyle travel to play Cambridge United on Saturday armed with a recent record of just one defeat in eight in League Two.

Argyle emerged as victors from four of their last five fixtures in the division since early October, and they should have enough momentum behind them to turn over a Cambridge United team on the slide this weekend.

United took all three points in only two of their last 10 League Two fixtures and they look fragile enough for in-form Plymouth to take full advantage of on Saturday.

European #1

Cagliari

Serie A surprise packages Cagliari continue to defy the odds near the top of the Italian top flight, and they take an excellent 12-match unbeaten run into their latest test against Sassuolo on Sunday.

Cagliari have yet to taste defeat away from the Sardegna Arena this term, and with their confidence peaking, they look a good bet to beat a Sassuolo team that recorded only two wins from their last nine this weekend.

Getafe

Getafe can climb to as high as 4th spot in La Liga with a victory at Eibar this weekend, and a glance at the form guide suggests that José Bordalás can grab the points they need.

Their hosts, Eibar were beaten in six of their last eight competitive matches, and with their self-belief at a low ebb, Getafe, who have won five, drawn two and lost just once in eight La Liga fixtures, will be waiting to pounce.

RB Leipzig

Julian Nagelsmann’s exciting RB Leipzig team come into this weekend’s latest round of Bundesliga fixtures in sparkling form.

Die Roten Bullen won each of their last four league matches in spectacular fashion, scoring a whopping 19 times on their way to bagging 12 Bundesliga points.

Leipzig are heavy favourites to extend that fine run further on Saturday at home to a Hoffenheim team that looked sup-bar in their recent brace of games against Fortuna Dusseldorf and Mainz.

European #2

Marseille

2nd in Ligue 1 meets 3rd this weekend when Marseille entertain Bordeaux at the Orange Vélodrome, and though the game pits two teams in top form against each other, we’re backing OM to come out on top.

Marseille are on a run of five straight Ligue 1 wins, beating top five teams Lille and Angers, along with a traditionally strong Lyon team along the way.

Bordeaux carry an unbeaten five match sequence into Sunday’s game, though Les Girondins were unable to win any of their last three games away from the Matmut Atlantique.

Feyenoord

After a sticky patch between the end of September and the end of October, Feyenoord seemed to have turned the corner of late, winning three of their last four Eredivisie games.

In contrast, their antagonists this weekend Vitesse, were conquered in each of their last four league fixtures – a run that has seen them tumble down the standings at an alarming rate.

Feyenoord won on two of their last three visits to the GelreDome, and we’re tipping them to complete their hattrick there this weekend.

Sivasspor

Turkish outfit Sivasspor are enjoying a red-hot streak in the Super Lig at present, and the unfancied club from Sivas have shot their way to the top of the standings after a wonderful run.

Their race to the summit was powered by a phenomenal string of five straight league wins in recent weeks and Rıza Çalımbay’s charges can add another three points to their recent haul this weekend.

In their way are Yeni Malatyaspor – a club that Sivasspor beat 2-0 when the teams last squared off in March and while their hosts are certainly no pushovers, we backing in-form the league leaders to make momentum count.
