DONE DEAL: Yoshinori Muto – Newcastle
Japanese forward Yoshinori Muto is a Magpie! After weeks of speculation regarding the player’s future, a deal has finally been struck between Newcastle United and Mainz 05. The player has already agreed personal terms with his new club and passed his medical. Several reports have confirmed the fee to be around £9.5m.
Jordan Pickford – Chelsea
Looks like the Blues have found themselves the proper replacement for Thibaut Courtois, if he decides to leave that is. After a successful World Cup this summer, the 24 year old Everton goalkeeper and England international has raised plenty of interest and Chelsea are the latest club in line for him according to Sky Sports. If Courtois indeed goes to Real Madrid, it’ll be interesting to see how the negotiations between the two clubs go. (Sky Sports)
Marcus Rojo – Wolves
Wolves are looking to take advantage of Jose Mourinho’s defensive clean-up at Man United as they look to sign the 28-year old Argentine international. With United going all in on Harry Maguire this summer and reportedly bidding £80m for the Leicester defender, Rojo will most likely become surplus to requirements if the deal indeed goes through. Danny Ings – Crystal Palace
Roy Hodgson is looking to add another attacker to his selection of players and has eyed Liverpool forward Danny Ings. However, one issue that could prevent this deal from materializing is Liverpool’s valuation for the 26-year old. It is believed the Reds are asking around £20m for him and Palace can certainly afford that, but the question remains is it worth spending that much on a player who’s played just 265 mins in the Premier League last season and scored just one goal. (Guardian)
Wilfried Zaha – Everton/Borussia Dortmund
Not much has happened transfer-wise at Selhurst Park so far this summer, but if the latest reports are to be believed we could see a massive move happen in the next couple of days. Everton and Borussia Dortmund are rumoured to be interested in Wilfried Zaha. It’s not the first time Zaha has been mentioned in transfer rumours, but no matter how many times his name has been thrown around in the past the 25-year old has stayed loyayl to Palace. However, Everton and Borussia Dortmund have shown strong interest in the player so it remains to be seen how he will react this time. The asking price set by the Eagles is believed to be around £60m. Alfie Mawson – Fulham, Burnley and West Ham
The race for Swansea’s £20m rated center-back is heating up as three teams from the Premier League have shown interest! West Ham seem to be the number one candidates to sign the player, having already had a couple of offers for him rejected but continue their pursuit after successfully signing goalkeeper Lucasz Fabianski last month. The back line at Burnley could also use a boost as the Clarets prepare for their first ever European season. The dark horse to sign Mawson are Fulham, who have joined the race only 24 hours ago. Their interest should definitely not be dismissed as they’ve already shown their interest in signing defenders with their deal for Maxime Le Marchand. (Sky Sports News)
