FST’s match analysts were on fire yesterday when they hit the mark with SIX of their eight Champions League match prediction tips on Tuesday evening in a superb showcase of their soothsaying skills.
On a night of high-calibre action across the continent, our tipsters matched the on-field action stride for stride with their quality predictions off it, landing correct tips for 75% of the eight Champions League fixtures in total.
Read on to see how it all developed.
Here’s how it went down
Our analysts kicked the evening off in promising fashion when they backed Sevilla to get the job done in Russia against Krasnodar, though it took a last gasp Munir strike to force a win for the La Liga outfit.
FST’s second successful tip came from Italy, where our tipsters plumped both teams to score selection for the Biancocelesti’s clash with Zenit. A Marco Parolo goal sandwiched between a brace from Ciro Immobile allowed the hosts to triumph, though the visitor’s consolation effort from Artem Dzyuba proved the crucial blow.
Next up, we backed Borussia Dortmund’s star-studded frontline to cut loose against Club Brugge, and the Bundesliga side landed our over 2.5 team goals pick with a comfortable 3-0 win over the Belgians in Germany, where prodigious Norwegian striker Erling Haaland helped himself to two goals.
About 900km south in Turin, our tipsters settled on a Juventus and both teams to score combo for the Old Lady’s date with Ferencvaros, and the Serie A champions came from behind to win late on against the Hungarians thanks to second half strikes from Cristiano Ronaldo and Alvaro Morata.
Next, attentions turned to Group H, where we needed a PSG win against RB Leipzig and a Man Utd victory without a clean sheet against Istanbul Basaksehir to keep the results coming.
A first-half Neymar spot-kick proved enough for the Parisians to see off Die Roten Bullen, while United coasted to a 4-1 win against their Turkish opponents, who grabbed a consolation through a second half free-kick from Deniz Turuc.
In our two failed efforts, we had backed Chelsea to win to nil in Rennes and both teams to score in Dynamo Kiev’s tussle with Barcelona.
