FST’s Fantasy Football tips ahead of GW38

Before becoming a Sports Journalist for Free Super Tips, Aaron spent three years studying Sports Journalism at the University of Sunderland while taking in the Black Cats' 'glory years' under Martin O'Neill. Now back in Northern Ireland he turns niche stats into predictions for FST, while he's one of the few people on this island who is equally comfortable at Windsor Park and the Aviva.

The final weekend of the Premier League season is upon us, which means there are difficult choices ahead for FPL managers.

With few sides still striving for anything, plenty of rotation expected and a wild high-scoring thriller to be found among the 10 games selecting your final side of the season results in more questions than answers.

However, we’re here to run the rule over the final 10 games and give you the best FPL choices for the weekend ahead.

Don’t forget that you can get a more in-depth look at each match this weekend in our Premier League predictions.

Fantasy Football Transfer Tips this Week

Target competitive sides

With much of the table already settled, there are three teams to focus in on this weekend. Chelsea, Liverpool and Leicester all need victories on the last day in their push for a Champions League spot. Meanwhile, the Manchester sides are expected to rotate heavily with an eye on their upcoming finals.

In the fight for the Europa League, both Tottenham and Everton have difficult fixtures ahead. However, sides like West Ham and Arsenal both need wins and they have winnable home meetings with Southampton and Brighton respectively.

Following that, Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.7million), Ben Chilwell (£5.9m), James Maddison (£.72m), Kelechi Iheanacho (£6.2m) and Darren Randolph (£4.3m) feature in our side.

Don’t completely rule out the sides with little to play for, as they could have second-string players aiming to make an impression. Having recorded a 20-point haul against Newcastle, Ferran Torres (£7m) is expected to make the most of his chance against Everton.

Motivated sharpshooters

While the fight for Europe may be the only thing teams are fighting for, players have their own personal ambitions on the final day. This season’s Golden Boot race is a tight one, with Harry Kane (£11.9m) and Mo Salah (£12.9m) locked on 22 goals each going into the final day.

Salah has been known to selfishly chase goals in this position before, while Kane could be turning out for Spurs for the final time. As a result, we expect the pair to be fired up and they’re both likely to get a full 90 minutes. With premium options usually a big risk on the final day, these two look like safe picks.

Faith with Leeds

While we’re avoiding teams who are likely to rotate, Leeds are an exception. We tripled up on their assets last week and both Stuart Dallas (£5.4m) and Patrick Bamford (£6.5m) provided us with good returns. Winger Jack Harrison (£5.6m) joins them in our team.

They’re taking the run-in seriously and could finish in the top eight with a win, so we expect Leeds to take this final game seriously. They host West Brom, which is a straightforward fixture for a Leeds side who play great football. As a result, they’re worth backing this weekend.

Who to Captain in GW38

Harry Kane

It’s a toss up between the two golden boot chasing forwards, but we see Kane having more freedom under Ryan Mason and little pressure as compared to Salah with Jurgen Klopp’s side in need of a victory.

Add into the mix that Kane has scored 16 goals in 15 meetings with Leicester and he looks like a great captaincy pick for the final day.
