FST’s Fantasy Football tips for GW28

Before becoming a Sports Journalist for Free Super Tips, Aaron spent three years studying Sports Journalism at the University of Sunderland while taking in the Black Cats' 'glory years' under Martin O'Neill. Now back in Northern Ireland he turns niche stats into predictions for FST, while he's one of the few people on this island who is equally comfortable at Windsor Park and the Aviva.

It’s not been the easiest time for fantasy managers of late. Pep roulette has truly taken hold, making your Man City investments a risk despite the Citizens’ impressive form. Meanwhile, some long term assets aren’t delivering.

With an international break looming, we’re edging slowly towards wildcard time. Before that we have to make moves for this weekend, while taking a look towards a four-game slate in GW29. With a lot to consider, we’ve got all the FPL tips you need below.

Don’t forget that you can get a more in-depth look at each match this weekend in our Premier League predictions.

Best Fantasy Football Team for GW28

Fantasy Football Transfer Tips this Week

An eye on Kai

Kai Havertz (£8.2million) hasn’t lived up to expectations so far in England, but he enjoyed his best display in a Chelsea shirt on Monday. The German played as a false-nine against Everton and he was involved in everything the Blues did well.

Havertz had a deflected shot awarded as an own goal, he earned the penalty for the second and had one ruled out by VAR. That should earn him a start up front against a poor Leeds defence, leaving him both in-form and out of position in FPL terms. Owned by just 2.5% of FPL bosses, Havertz is a great differential pick.

GW29 options

The spectre of next week’s limited gameweek looms large. There are only four Premier League games on the docket, so it’s worth keeping an eye on your changes this week to prepare for a tough round to come.

Our selection includes eight players with a game next weekend. Teams like Tottenham, West Ham and Leeds are all worth considering. We’ve got Harry Kane (£11.4m) and Heung-min Son (£9.6m), while we’ve also invested in the game’s top scoring defender Aaron Cresswell (£5.8m).

Opportunity for Seagulls?

It’s not been the greatest run for Brighton, but there’s hardly been a better time to back the Seagulls. This weekend pits them against a Southampton side who shipped five goals at City earlier this week. They’re one of eight sides to play next week, where they meet strugglers Newcastle.

Robert Sanchez (£4.5m) is a stellar option in goal, but we’ve also moved for Neal Maupay (£6.1m). Both are cut-price options who can help you through to your next wildcard. This double-header could provide big returns for the scantly-owned Brighton players.

Who to Captain in GW28

Harry Kane

While Kane is carrying a knock, his return for Tottenham shows how crucial it is that he plays. Spurs have kicked on with Kane back to his best. The England forward has scored consecutive braces going into this clash.

Kane faces Arsenal, one of his favourite opponents. The Gunners are starting to shift attention to the Europa League and that provides Kane and Tottenham with an opportunity, so he’s our captain selection for this weekend.
