FST's Fantasy Football tips for GW32

Born in the south east of Ireland, Simon put his life-long love of football to good use when he started a successful independent blog in 2010. That opened up an alternative route to a career in journalism, and having had work published across a number of sites and publications, Simon joined the staff at Spotlight Sports Group in 2018.

Best possible fantasy team for GW 32

Fantasy football tips this week

Game Week 32 throws up a high number of fixtures that look extremely close to call, though we’ve identified a few pockets of potential that could set you up for some decent points returns.

Check out our best Fantasy football transfer tips and selection advice below.

Move for Martinez

First choice Arsenal stopper Bernd Leno currently appears in just 5.4% of Fantasy Football teams after a major sell off of the German keeper following his potentially campaign ending injury against Brighton.

Somewhat ironically, Leno’s replacement in real life, Emiliano Martínez, looks well worth snapping up for your FF team this weekend at just 4.2m.

Arsenal host a routinely toothless Norwich City outfit at the Emirates on Wednesday, and the Canaries carry the Premier League’s worst away goalscoring record with them to the capital.

City have scored just six times in total in 15 away assignments since August, and that dreadful attacking output suggests a clean sheet is likely for Martinez.

Capitalising on Pulisic’s momentum

With three Premier League wins on the spin, Frank Lampard’s Chelsea have some serious momentum right now, and in terms of individual performances, US international winger Christian Pulisic has been one of their standout performers.

The ex-Dortmund star amassed seven FF points in his each of his last two run-outs for the Blues thanks to his back-to-back goalscoring heroics, and the increasingly influential 21-year-old looks worth picking up with a game at a hapless West Ham side on the horizon.

Pulisic can slot nicely into a midfield three with Kevin de Bruyne and Bruno Fernandes this week, who both remain talismanic figures for Manchester City and United respectively.

De Bruyne pulled in eight points despite finishing on the losing side against Pulisic and Chelsea on Thursday, and the Belgian maestro’s love of a big-game performance makes him worth sticking with for the Citizens’ bout with newly crowned champions Liverpool next week.

Bruno, meanwhile, has been averaging almost 8.0 FF points per game since his switch to England in January. The Portuguese schemer will be aiming to add to his three goals and three assists in his latest Premier League runout at Brighton on Tuesday.

Replacing Aguero

With a whopping 132-point haul, Sergio Aguero’s output will be missed by many FF players who were forced to cut the Argentine striker loose after the City star was forced onto the sidelines for an extended spell with a knee injury.

However, the refund of the game’s most expensive forward returns a bumper 11.7 to your coffers, allowing you to pick any other Premier League hitman to replace him with change left over.

If you haven’t made the move already, then Wolves superstar Raul Jimenez is a cracking option to replace the crocked Aguero.

The 10th most expensive striker has collected the 2nd most points (162) for his position this season, and with two goals in his last two games, the Mexican should be a huge threat again for Wanderers against relegation threatened Aston Villa.

Who to captain this gameweek?

Marcus Rashford

Marcus Rashford has been feeling his way back to fitness for Manchester United since the restart, and having looked a little flat at Tottenham, the 22-year-old looked much more dangerous in Utd’s 3-0 win over Sheffield United on Wednesday.

While Rashford will be pleased with his two assists – a creative double that earned him an impressive nine-point Fantasy Football bounty, the wide attacker will be irked at the scoring chances he missed himself.

Rashford hit the net in each of his last two appearances against Brighton however, and if he can add goals to his rediscovered inventive touch when he lines up against the Seagulls next week, then a deluge of points looks on.
