It’s the first Friday night Premier League fixture of the season, so now is your chance to make up some of that lost ground as all your mates forget to make their changes.

Last week was a mixed bag as the first match of the weekend saw FPL favourite Virgil van Dijk struck down with a long term knee injury, but on the flip side of the coin Timo Werner finally repaid many managers’ faith in him and the Spurs duo of Son and Kane continued to rack up the points.

As always, we’re here to analyse the best options for your team for Fantasy Football GW6.

Fantasy Football tips this week

Mourinho’s deadly duo to shine

We may have seen the first goalless draw of the season this week, but the goals continue to rain down in the Premier League and the downpour intensifies in North London.

Spurs have scored an impressive 15 Premier League goals already this season, and it’s mainly thanks to the deadly duo of Heung-min Son and Harry Kane. The pair have 12 goals and nine assists between them and have racked up an incredible 118 points between them already.

They face a Burnley side without a top flight win this season and with an average goals conceded record of two per game. Trust the Spurs forwards to deliver this week.

Free up cash with van Dijk replacement

In case you missed it, popular FPL defender Virgil van Dijk is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines following a Jordan Pickford tackle that would have looked more appropriate in the WWE than the Merseyside Derby.

The Liverpool talisman is valued at a hefty 6.4m, but there’s an argument for replacing him with a cheaper option considering the lack of clean sheets in the top flight this season.

Aston Villa’s Ezri Konsa (4.6m) is the man we’d be looking at. The in form Villains have collected three clean sheets this season and Konsa has even managed to find the net. Villa have an excellent run of fixtures still to come as well, so Konsa is an excellent van Dijk replacement and has the added bonus of freeing up 1.8m for the more exciting players further forward.

Hang on to De Bruyne

It’s not been the greatest start to the season for Kevin De Bruyne and Manchester City. After a goal and an assist at Wolves in GW2 the Belgian playmaker has returned just four points from two appearances for the underperforming Citizens and was ruled out of their 1-0 win over Arsenal last weekend.

However, he’s returned to first team training now and while this weekend might come too soon for the midfielder, he should be back in action before long. De Bruyne may have underwhelmed so far, but after scoring an incredible 251 points last season it would be foolish to write him off at this stage.

Who to captain in GW6

Harry Kane

Tottenham’s talisman put in another star performance last weekend with a second consecutive 16 point haul against West Ham, and he can continue his hot streak against a Burnley side yet to win in the Premier League this season.

The Clarets have shipped eight goals in four games and have a mountainous task if they want to stop this deadly Spurs attack. Kane in particular has scored five and assisted seven already this term and has netted seven goals in his last three appearances in all competitions for Tottenham.
