Hotshots Accumulator: 558/1 Week-long goalscorer sixfold

Before becoming a Sports Journalist for Free Super Tips, Aaron spent three years studying Sports Journalism at the University of Sunderland while taking in the Black Cats' 'glory years' under Martin O'Neill. Now back in Northern Ireland he turns niche stats into predictions for FST, while he's one of the few people on this island who is equally comfortable at Windsor Park and the Aviva.

The Champions League’s protracted group stage is over and this week features some true knockout football. There’s a busy slate both at home and on the continent before the FA Cup fourth round gets underway on Friday night. Ahead of some high-stakes games, I’ve picked out a 558/1 goalscorer sixfold.

Tuesday – Atletico Madrid vs Getafe

Atletico Madrid are flying across all fronts heading into this Copa del Rey clash with Getafe. Since their 15-game winning streak was snapped at Leganes, Atleti have won three of their previous four.

Julian Alvarez has proven key since his summer switch from Manchester City. The forward scored a brace in last month’s win over Bayer Leverkusen and has helped guide them through the early rounds of the cup. The Argentine has scored four goals across their four games in the Copa del Rey, and he’s well-priced to continue that strong run.

Wednesday – Newcastle vs Arsenal

Arsenal’s chances of progressing in the Carabao Cup look slim following their 2-0 first-leg defeat. Despite that lead, expect a full-strength Newcastle side, including in-form forward Alexander Isak.

The Swede has scored in 10 of his previous 13 appearances, including the opener in last month’s clash at the Emirates. Both Newcastle and Isak have struggled in home clashes with Bournemouth and Fulham, but they can return to form with a trip to Wembley on the horizon.

Thursday – Liverpool vs Tottenham

Liverpool are heavy favourites to progress to the Carabao Cup final despite losing the first leg at Tottenham. The Reds have no shortage of attacking options to throw at a struggling Spurs side, but Cody Gakpo stands out as he aims to continue a fine run in this competition.

The Dutchman has scored four times in four League Cup games this season and he’s forced his way into the starting line-up of late. He scored three times across clashes with Ipswich and PSV Eindhoven before starting Saturday’s clash with Bournemouth. He’s scored six goals and made two assists over the course of his last nine appearances and he can trouble a Spurs side who have been routinely torn apart this season.

Friday – PSG vs Monaco

Friday’s Ligue 1 clash offers Ousmane Dembele a chance to continue his incredible run in front of goal. Monaco are 13 points shy of the French champions and PSG have kicked into another gear in recent weeks.

Dembele has fueled a six-game winning streak, scoring in each of those matches. That includes a 1-0 victory over Monaco in the cup early last month. The Frenchman has scored back-to-back hat-tricks against Stuttgart and Brest, taking his tally across the last nine games to 14 goals. At just shy of 2/1, he’s a great price to extend that fantastic burst of form.

Saturday – Everton vs Bournemouth

Everton will hope to continue their progress under David Moyes when they host Bournemouth in the FA Cup. The Toffees beat Peterborough 2-0 before Moyes took charge, with Iliman Ndiaye netting in that victory.

He’s been more involved since Moyes’ took charge, scoring for the third game running in their 4-0 win over Leicester last weekend. With four strikes in five starts, back Ndiaye to strike against a Cherries side who have made it past this round twice in eight years.

Sunday – Blackburn Rovers vs Wolves

Wolves boss Vitor Pereira picked a strong side for the 2-1 win at Bristol City in the last round of the cup. Matheus Cunha was banned for that win but he should feature at Championship Blackburn this weekend.

The forward signed a new contract and he boosted Wolves’ survival hopes with a strike in the win over Aston Villa last time out. Cunha struck twice in three appearances in last season’s cup run, so back the forward against a Rovers side who have lost three from four in the second-tier.
