6,126/1 Super Mega EFL Cup Accumulator From Our Experts

Salford vs Leeds – Salford to win @ 17/4

The Sky cameras are heading to the Peninsula Stadium on Tuesday and it is easy to see why they may be smelling an upset.

League Two Salford knocked out Championship opposition in Preston in the first round and they could repeat the trick against Leeds, who were forced to come from behind in a 2-1 win at home to Shrewsbury in their opening cup clash.

Injuries are taking their toll on Leeds and, having made a slow start to the Championship campaign, it would be a big surprise were Daniel Farke not to ring the changes.

The Ammies are 17/4 to prevail in 90 minutes and odds-against to avoid defeat, which makes plenty of appeal.

Rob Eddy

Nottingham Forest vs Burnley – Forest to win @ 11/8

Nottingham Forest are priced at 11/8 to come out on top at home to Burnley, who have been beaten in both of their opening two league games.

Forest may have also lost twice but there have been positives in away losses at Arsenal and Manchester United, while they have at least chalked up a win.

The Tricky Trees have home advantage on Wednesday night and their form at the City Ground last season was the key reason they stayed up, losing just five times on their own patch as they ended in 16th place.

Steve Cooper’s men have decent cup pedigree of late, reaching the semi-finals of this competition last season despite their survival battle, and they look a big price to win.

Liam Flin

Luton vs Gillingham – Gills double chance (win or draw) @ 9/4

Gillingham were humbled 3-0 by Colchester on Saturday but that scoreline was an unfair reflection of the match and the Gills are still flying high in League Two.

They have started the season with four wins from five matches and they could be worth backing to cause an upset against Premier League opponents Luton in the second round of the EFL Cup on Tuesday.

Luton’s maiden Premier League season has not started well with 4-1 and 3-0 hammerings against Brigthon and Chelsea and confidence could be low heading into this match, which will be low on their list of priorities as they target survival.

With that in mind, Gillingham are worth a bet to avoid defeat in the double chance market at Kenilworth Road.

Tom Hill

Tranmere vs Leicester – Leicester to win & BTTS @ 11/5

Enzo Maresca’s Leicester City have set the standard in the Championship this season, and they are the only team to have won all four of their fixtures.

Maresca may have lost some key players in the summer, but his side should have too much for Tranmere Rovers, even with some expected changes.

Tranmere have only won once all season, but they have not struggled to score, netting 10 times in six matches.

At home, they have only failed to find the back of the net twice since February, so an away win and both teams to score appeals for this round of fixtures.

James Mason

Sheffield Wednesday vs Mansfield – Mansfield to win @ 7/2

Sheffield Wednesday have endured a miserable return to the Championship and life could get harder for manager Xisco Munoz when his side host Mansfield Town on Tuesday.

The Owls have lost all four of their league matches to leave them bottom of the table and they required a last-ditch equaliser and penalties to beat Stockport County in the last round of the EFL Cup.

Mansfield have amassed nine points from five League Two games in an unbeaten start to the season and haven’t tasted defeat in their last eight away competitive fixtures, making them a solid shout to send Wednesday packing.

Chris Rivers

Sheffield United vs Lincoln City – Lincoln draw no bet @ 9/2

Lincoln City have started the season really well in League One and go to Sheffield United on Wednesday with a serious chance of springing a surprise.

The Blades are in for a tough season in the top flight and may not be fully invested in the EFL Cup, where they don’t have the best record at home, winning just six of their last 15 ties at Bramall Lane.

Lincoln are unbeaten in five, winning four of those matches and are getting goals from a variety of sources.

The Imps have won seven of their last ten away ties in the League Cup, including a couple of shock wins at Bristol City and Huddersfield, and are worth considering either as a draw-no-bet option or to qualify at 3-1.

Ian Wilkerson

Fulham vs Tottenham – Spurs to win @ 10/11

Everyone at Tottenham is sick of being reminded that it is nearly 16 years since Spurs last won a trophy and that should ensure a positive attitude for their trip to Fulham on Tuesday.

With no European football this year, the League Cup is an important competition for Spurs and there has been plenty of enthusiasm about their first few performances under Ange Postecoglou.

It may take time for them to gain more assurance at the back but there are encouraging signs and the same cannot be said about their opponents.

The Cottagers won at Everton on the opening day but that might not be a huge achievement and more worrying was the home capitulation against Brentford that followed.

They battled well to earn a point at Arsenal on Saturday but Marco Silva’s side have to get used to life without striker Aleksandar Mitrovic and this looks a difficult task.
