Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury predictions & tips with 14/1 treble

Jake Paul and Tommy Fury will finally settle their feud in Saudi Arabia this weekend in a showdown billed as ‘The Truth’ after two previous cancellations.

Both fighters come into Sunday’s showdown with unbeaten records so something has to give as these two settle their bitter feud. This is a big step-up for Paul on paper as he is facing a genuine professional boxer for the first time, although he has taken on ex-MMA fighters. Fury – the younger brother of heavyweight champion Tyson Fury – knows a defeat could spell the end of his fledgling boxing career before it has even really begun.

We’ve got the main event covered and details of how to watch, as well as a 14/1 treble featuring Paul vs Fury and selections from the undercard.

Paul vs Fury Betting Offers

Paul vs Fury prediction and fight preview

This is essentially a match-up between two up-and-coming and unbeaten fighters and if boxing was the only consideration this would perhaps be an intriguing undercard bout, but given their respective statuses as celebrities away from the sport – particularly in Paul’s case – this is a headline event.

The fact both fighters are inexperienced does make this hard call and understandably there is little to separate them in the betting. Paul is rated as the slight favourite and there are a few reasons why this is justifiable for the YouTuber-turned-boxer ahead of this 10-round contest.

Paul has been involved in big events already, while this will be Fury’s first outing as a headliner and is comfortably the biggest contest he has been involved in in terms of general interest and what it means for his own career. ‘The Problem Child’ arguably has the better record with four of his six wins coming inside the distance, while Fury has four stoppages in eight outings, and he has a slight height advantage – although Fury has the edge in terms of reach.

This could potentially be a real 50-50 match-up and based on the build-up there can be no questioning Paul’s desire, or indeed his confidence, but as the underdog Fury looks to be the man to back here. The 23-year-old may have underwhelmed a little in his previous outings but he has never been in any trouble either, and has solid boxing fundamentals behind him. TNT will also be well aware that a loss would essentially end his own hopes of forging a long term career in boxing, and that extra motivation could work in his favour.

In contrast, Paul has a bit of raw talent and power – but in terms of his skill set he looks limited, and desire can only take you so far. If Paul can turn this into a battle he has a real chance but if Fury comes in with a solid game plan, and sticks to it, he should be able to pick the American off with his superior jab and potentially claim a stoppage late on.

Sunday’s Boxing Treble Tip

Tommy Fury to in by KO, TKO or Disqualification
Vs Jake Paul

I’ve opted for a standard win for Fury as the main bet for Sunday’s action but to boost the price of this treble tip a stoppage win for the Briton makes sense.

Fury is by far the more polished of these two inexperienced fighters and in his eight outings so far has demonstrated solid boxing fundamentals, with good footwork, quick hand speed and a solid jab. Paul definitely has some power but lacks the ringcraft and Fury should be able to land telling shots at regular intervals in this match-up, as such he can get the job done inside the distance.

Ilunga Makabu to win by KO, TKO or Disqualification
Vs Badou Jack

Ilunga Makabu defends his WBC Cruiserweight title against Badou Jack in what could be a great match-up.

Jack is bidding to become a three-weight world champion having previously held titles at super middleweight and light heavyweight, but he could be up against it when he faces knockout specialist Makabu.

Makabu, 31, has two defeats on his record but hasn’t lost since being stopped by Tony Bellew back in 2016. The southpaw from DR Congo has 25 knockout wins in 29 victories and may just have a bit too much power for 39-year-old Jack.

Bader Samreen to win in rounds 1-4
Vs Viorel Simon

Bader Samreen has a perfect record with six stoppage wins in six professional fights so far and he should be able to claim an early win against Viorel Simon.

This looks a real mismatch, with 41-year-old Simon coming into the contest with six defeats in his last seven fights. Three of the Romanian’s last four losses have come in the first four rounds, and Samreen will look to make a statement with an early victory.
