Smith vs Eubank Jr prediction

The first fight appeared to be fairly even until the fourth round and Eubank was perhaps even shading it after some good work in the third.

That all changed when Smith scored his first knockdown early in the fourth, as he sent ‘Next Gen’ to the canvas again before the stoppage was called.

A Smith win does look a reasonable option here but there is greater value backing ‘Beefy’ to record one or more knockdowns.

Eubank needs to come into this contest with a different game plan and he has indicated he will try to put more pressure on Smith.

Eubank is probably the more powerful of the two but Smith has excellent movement and footwork, and he should be able to do some damage on the counter. The 35-year-old has already shown he has the power to stop Eubank and he has accuracy when fighting on the backfoot, so backing Smith to claim at least one knockdown appeals.

Saturday’s Boxing Treble Tip

Liam Smith One Or More Knockdowns
Vs Chris Eubank Jr

Over 7.5 rounds
Adam Azim vs Aram Faniian

Adam Azim has six stoppages in eight fights and all of those early finishes have come inside three rounds. The 21-year-old was taken the full distance by the previously unbeaten Santos Reyes in his last outing, despite recording a second round knockdown, and Saturday’s opponent Aram Faniian is probably his toughest assignment to date. Faniian has a winning record (23-1) and his one loss came on points. The Ukrainian has been involved in minor title fights before and can provide a test for Azim, so back over 7.5 rounds in this contest.

Over 6.5 rounds
Frazer Clarke vs David Allen

Frazer Clarke is actually a year older than David Allen but these two heavyweights are at very different points in their respective careers. Clarke is gearing up for just his eights professional fight after seven wins (6 KOs), while Allen has been a professional for over a decade. Clarke is the heavy favourite here and should be able to claim a win, but Allen is comfortably the more experienced of the duo and his three defeats inside the distance have all come after the sixth round. As such, over 6.5 rounds appeals in this all-British match-up.
