Mexico Open & Kenya Open tips with 492/1 golf double
After Hideki Matsuyama’s final-round masterclass at the Genesis Invitational, the PGA Tour’s leading lights have almost all decided to take a week off as the circuit heads south for the Mexico Open.
Defending champion Tony Finau is the best player in the field at Vidanta Vallarta while the DP World Tour returns from a break at the Kenya Open, which is back at Muthaiga Country Club for the third consecutive season.
Racing & Football Outlook golf tipster Joe Champion has analysed both events and put together an each-way double which pays out at 492/1.

Mexico Open winner prediction – Nicolai Hojgaard at 16/1
Tony Finau upstaged Jon Rahm in Mexico last season and, with the Spaniard now plying his trade on the LIV Tour, it’s up to the 2023 champion to assume favouritism for the 2024 tournament.
The Ohio giant clearly relishes Vidanta Vallarta, a Greg Norman design which features super-wide fairways and minimal rough, and the weather forecast this week suggests that big hitters could again take this course apart.
Finau deserves to be favourite but world number 34 Nicolai Hojgaard has the potential to become a PGA Tour star and he looks the best betting option.
After winning the DP World Tour Championship in November, the Dane produced a marvellous performance on his first start of the PGA Tour season when he finished runner-up at the Farmers Insurance Open.
Hojgaard has posted respectable efforts in back-to-back Signature Events, finishing 31st at Pebble Beach and 39th in the Genesis Invitational, both times on his debut at long-established PGA Tour venues.
That isn’t an issue at Vidanta Vallarta, where the Dane finished 33rd last season. That was a solid effort and he has since become an increasingly assured operator. He could destroy this layout.
Kenya Open winner prediction – Aaron Cockerill at 28/1
The DP World Tour begins a three-week stint in Africa starting with the Kenya Open, which takes place again around the tight confines of Muthaiga Country Club where Ashun Wu and Jorge Campillo have been victorious in the last two years.
This course, measuring 7,228 yards but playing shorter due to Nairobi’s high altitude, is a test of tee-to-green precision and that’s reflected in a market led by Thriston Lawrence, Rikuya Hoshino and Ewen Ferguson.
That trio of winners are all clear contenders but so too is Aaron Cockerill, who missed the cut at the Qatar Masters last time out but had begun the DP World Tour season with form figures of 32-25-15-4-23-6 with the first three events taking place in Africa.
Short-hitting Cockerill missed the cut at Muthaiga last season but he shared the runner-up spot behind Wu at the venue in 2022. He’s poised to bounce back.
