Football fans across the globe are patiently waiting for the return of top-flight football but there is plenty of high-class sport left in July to whet your appetite.

We have already witnessed a thrilling British Grand Prix, over half of Wimbledon and the start of the Tour de France, but we can still look forward to the Women’s European Championships, this weekend’s Wimbledon finals, The Open, two more Grands Prix and some boxing action between Derek Chisora and Kubrat Pulev.

We’ve enrolled the help of some experts of the sports in question to bring you this huge x/1 acca for all of July’s biggest sporting events.

1,380/1 Month in Sport accumulator

Football – Women’s Euro 2022

Best bet – England to win at 4/1

Favourites Spain are without the injured Jennifer Hermoso and England have a squad loaded with talent.

Not only that, but the Lionesses’ boast home advantage and manager Sarina Wiegman led the Netherlands to glory on home soil in the last Women’s European Championship.

Wiegman boasts a great tactical acumen, winning experience and a deep squad filled with talent.

Tennis – Wimbledon 2022

Best bets – Ons Jabeur at 21/20 & Novak Djokovic at 2/7

It has been another tournament of wild unpredictability on the ladies’ side of Wimbledon but Ons Jabeur can use her form to her advantage.

The number-three seed has reached the finals of the Madrid Open and Italian Open this year and won in Madrid. She has won four matches in straight sets in Wimbledon and looks well-placed to land her first Grand Slam.

Novak Djokovic is the standout favourite on the men’s side despite a scare in his quarter-final against Jannik Sinner, going two sets down to the young Italian before rallying to win the match.

The 35-year-old has won the last three Wimbledon titles and, while main contender Rafael Nadal has been in excellent form this year, Djokovic is a master on grass and looks set to win his seventh Wimbledon.

Boxing – Derek Chisora vs Kubrat Pulev

Best bet – Kubrat Pulev to win by decision or technical decision at 6/5

Dereck Chisora and Kubrat Pulev first met in 2016 in a fight that ended in a split decision win for the latter. In truth, that result perhaps flattered Chisora and Pulev was probably unlucky not to be handed a unanimous decision win.

Since then, both of these fighters have put a few more miles on the clock but I’m expecting the same result again, with Pulev winning on points.

Chisora has always been an explosive heavyweight but at 38 he no longer has the ability to come up with those moments in the later rounds and if Pulev can avoid getting drawn into a war in the early exchanges I would expect him to ultimately claim the win. At 41, the Bulgarian’s best years are also behind him but he still has plenty of ringcraft and can record another win this weekend.

Formula 1 – Austrian Grand Prix

Best bet – Max Verstappen to win at 5/6

Damage to Max Verstappen’s car robbed him of what looked to be a certain win at Silverstone but the Dutchman is more than capable of bouncing back at Red Bull’s home Grand Prix.

Verstappen won both Grands Prix held at the Red Bull Ring last year and has taken the chequered flag first in three of the last four Austrian Grand Prix. He has won six of the ten races this season and five of those have come in the last seven.

Golf – The Open

Best bet – Shane Lowry at 25/1

Shane Lowry’s finest hour came when he triumphed at the 2019 Open at Royal Portrush and the Irishman looks capable of regaining the Claret Jug at St Andrews.

Lowry has been in fine form throughout 2022, including when finishing third at the Masters in April, and this links test looks ideal.
