Premier League 2023/24: Key fixtures & 30/1 opening day acca!

Before becoming a Sports Journalist for Free Super Tips, Aaron spent three years studying Sports Journalism at the University of Sunderland while taking in the Black Cats' 'glory years' under Martin O'Neill. Now back in Northern Ireland he turns niche stats into predictions for FST, while he's one of the few people on this island who is equally comfortable at Windsor Park and the Aviva.

Just five days after Manchester City completed their 2022/23 treble, the Premier League’s 2023/24 fixture list was unveiled. It was the final odd quirk of a season disrupted by the World Cup, with the new fixture list heralding a return to normality.

This year’s calendar features a return of the traditional festive run. The season wraps up on May 19th, just under a month ahead of Euro 2024.

With anticipation already building for the new season, we’ve taken a look at the standout fixtures from the coming campaign. We’ve also moved early with a 30/1 opening day accumulator tip which we’ve priced up with bet365. New customers can click the link below to claim £30 in free bets.

Premier League 2023/24 Key Fixtures

City start against Kompany man

The Premier League season starts on Friday, 11th August as Manchester City head to Burnley. That clash pits the champions against their former captain, with Vincent Kompany leading the Clarets back to the top flight in his first season as a manager in England.

Burnley return as a club transformed under Kompany. While their previous spell in the Premier League was based around a direct, physical style, this version of the Clarets are a lot easier on the eye. Kompany’s side dominated the second tier last season on their way to winning the title, so that should make for an entertaining opener.

However, the standout clash from the opening weekend is Chelsea’s meeting with Liverpool. Both sides are undergoing something of a rebuild this summer, with the pair expected to have completely new midfield lineups for the opener.

Premier League opening weekend acca

Ahead of the opening weekend, I’ve picked out a 30/1 fourfold covering some of the biggest live games from the first round of action. It starts with the Friday night opener, between City and Burnley. Their previous reunion with Kompany came in last season’s FA Cup, where they ran out 6-0 winners. They look good to cover a -1 handicap at the newly promoted Clarets.

Arsenal kick-off Saturday’s action against Nottingham Forest, the side who ended their title hopes last term. The Gunners are expected to extend a fantastic record at the Emirates into the new campaign, but their lack of clean sheets should be a problem again, so back Forest to get a goal. Later that day, Aston Villa look a good bet to avoid defeat at Newcastle, with the Villains set to strengthen the side which finished seventh last term.

Finally, Tottenham’s new era begins at Brentford, a side that thumped Manchester United early last term. Celtic fans are already warning Ange Postecoglou will make a slow start, so the Bees are great value to secure the points.

Final Day highlights

In recent times, the final day tends to be more about the fight for relegation and the top four. This term, the change to the Champions League format in 2024/25 means that fifth in the Premier League should be enough to qualify.

That should add to the final-day drama, which looks set to have some interesting games. Burnley vs Nottingham Forest and Luton vs Fulham could be big at the bottom, while with a race for fifth games at Chelsea and Liverpool could be vital, while Sheffield United vs Spurs may be decisive at both ends of the table.
