Premier League early value betting tips for this weekend (with tasty 53/1 acca!)
Born in the south east of Ireland, Simon put his life-long love of football to good use when he started a successful independent blog in 2010. That opened up an alternative route to a career in journalism, and having had work published across a number of sites and publications, Simon joined the staff at Spotlight Sports Group in 2018.
The pace has been picking up in the Premier League since the turn of the New Year, and with both ends of the table starting to take shape, each fixture and every point counts.

Saturday January 16
Wolves vs West Brom
Sam Allardyce hasn’t exactly got the Baggies bouncing since his appointment, and three defeats in four Premier League matches alongside an embarrassing FA Cup exit to Blackpool will have left West Brom’s players bereft of confidence ahead of Saturday’s Black Country Derby.
Wolves have won just once in eight assignments themselves, though two of their last three victories came at Molineux, and they should be able to squeeze enough out of their misfiring frontline to see off their struggling neighbours.
Betting Tip: Wolves to Win & Under 2.5 Goals @21/10
West Ham vs Burnley
Betting Tip: Burnley Double Chance @10/11
Burnley gave a good account of themselves in mid-week despite their eventual 1-0 defeat to league leading Manchester United, and on Saturday, the confident looking Clarets take on a West Ham team they’ve enjoyed plenty of success against of late.
Sean Dyche’s charges were beaten just once in six previous meetings with the Irons, and the Clarets should be able to hammer out a positive result against a West Ham team that won just two of their last seven Premier League home assignments.
Leicester vs Southampton
Away day specialists Southampton have lost just once in eight top tier tussles on the road, and the Saints’ ability to go toe-to-toe with just about any opponent resulted in both teams scoring in five of the last six of those away tests.
Southampton traded goals with Leicester in three of the teams’ last four league skirmishes, and with the Foxes looking unconvincing at the King Power Stadium, we anticipate action at both ends again.
Betting Tip: Both teams to score @7/10
Sunday January 17
Sheffield United vs Tottenham Hotspur
Sheffield United finally ended their wait for a first league win of the campaign when the Blades carved out a 1-0 win at home to a lacklustre Newcastle team on Tuesday, though a second victory should prove tough to secure against Tottenham.
Buoyed by four wins from their last five fixtures in all competitions, Jose Mourinho’s efficient outfit should have too much quality in both boxes for their hosts at Bramall Lane.
Betting Tip: Tottenham Hotspur to Win @7/10
Liverpool vs Manchester United
Manchester United replaced Liverpool as Premier League leaders thanks to a hard-fought 1-0 win at Burnley in mid-week, though their chances of achieving back-to-back wins on the road with a victory at Anfield feel slim.
Liverpool’s record on Merseyside is formidable, and with a chance to teach their title pretenders and traditional rivals a lesson, the Reds are expected to go full throttle on Sunday.
Betting Tip: Liverpool to Win @1/1
Manchester City vs Crystal Palace
Manchester City are really starting to purr, and the Citizens’ recent string of victories was accompanied by some of their best football of the campaign so far.
Roy Hodgson’s Eagles have been in a bit of a flap of late. They had their wings clipped in a 7-0 mauling to Liverpool last month and will fear another battering at the hands of an equally ruthless City team.
Betting Tip: Over 2.5 Man City Team Goals @8/11
