Premier League early value betting tips the weekend (with 66/1 acca!)

Born in the south east of Ireland, Simon put his life-long love of football to good use when he started a successful independent blog in 2010. That opened up an alternative route to a career in journalism, and having had work published across a number of sites and publications, Simon joined the staff at Spotlight Sports Group in 2018.

Once the dust has settled after the midweek European escapades, attentions turn again to the weekend’s domestic matters, where there is another full fixture slate from the Premier League to look forward to between Friday and Monday.

Ahead of the top-flight frenzy, we’ve picked out some early value Premier League betting tips from the games scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, which we’ve combined into a tasty looking 66/1 acca.

Check out our selections below, and remember – we’ll be covering all of this weekend’s matches in detail with exclusive betting tips on our Premier League predictions page.

Southampton vs Chelsea

Betting tip: Chelsea to win

Southampton’s Premier League form has fallen off a cliff since their unexpected 1-0 win over champions Liverpool in early January, and a six-game losing streak following that surprise triumph over the Reds has severely fractured the Saints’ confidence.

Chelsea meanwhile, are enjoying a new manager bounce under Thomas Tuchel, and a four-match winning surge in the league should set them up nicely for another productive day at St. Mary’s Stadium.

Burnley vs West Brom

Betting tip: Under 2.5 goals

The reverse fixture between Burnley and West Brom at the Hawthorns back in October was a dreary affair, which shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise given the teams’ goal-scoring records this term, and a repeat of that dour 0-0 stalemate looks possible in Saturday’s rematch.

Burnley and WBA recorded xG’s of 1.09 and 0.73 respectively in that low-key clash last year, and under 2.5 goals backers could find more joy in their do-over in Lancashire.

Fulham vs Sheffield United

Betting tip: Fulham to win

Following their superb victory at Everton, third from bottom Fulham have a huge opportunity to close the gap between themselves and Newcastle just outside the drop zone, and we don’t expect the Cottagers to let that chance slip against Sheffield United.

Scott Parker’s side have lost just three of their last 12 Premier League assignments, and their easy on the eye passing game can open up the Blades at Craven Cottage. Fulham came close to beating Sheffield United at Bramall Lane, and they are favoured to get the job done back on home soil.

West Ham vs Tottenham Hotspur

Betting tip: West Ham to win

West Ham haven’t beaten London rivals Tottenham at home in the league since 2017, though the unlikely top four contenders have a chance to set that record straight on Sunday.

Spurs’ victory over bottom club Sheffield United on January 17 remains their only league win on the road in seven attempts since early November, and with the rigours of Thursday night Europa League football likely to have an impact, they could struggle to match West Ham’s energy.

Aston Villa vs Leicester City

Betting tip: Leicester City and both teams to score

Aston Villa have looked a little weary in recent weeks, and the Villains just about escaped with point from their last outing against a vastly superior Brighton outfit at the AMEX Stadium.

Leicester meanwhile, should have a real spring in their step following their pulsating 3-1 win over Liverpool, and their counter-attacking power could prove too potent for Villa in what should be an exciting Midlands Derby.

Dean Smith’s men rarely fail to score however, and having hit the net in 82% of their league encounters this term, a consolation effort should be within reach.
