Crystal Palace vs West Brom – Sat 3rd Oct – 12:45

Crystal Palace have a number of players who are expected to be out for the next few weeks. Damien Delaney, Mile Jedinak, Joel Ward, and Connor Wickham are all expected to be on the sidelines until the middle of October. Marouane Chamakh could miss the whole month with his hamstring injury, whilst Kwesi Appiah is looking at the rest of the season on the sidelines with an ACL injury.

Ben Foster’s the major absentee for West Brom, with an setback in his recovery ruling him out until January. Gareth McAuley should be fit in time for Saturday’s game.

Manchester City vs Newcastle – Sat 3rd Oct – 15:00

Vincent Kompany’s slight knock seems worse than first though, and he’s not expected to be back until the middle of October now. Eliaqium Mangala, Fabian Delph, and Gael Clichy will be keeping him company. The extent of Samir Nasri’s injury is unknown though, whilst striking duo Wilfried Bony and Kelechi Iheanacho are hoping to be back in action on Saturday.

Newcastle have a large number of players returning from injury, with Siem De Jong, Jack Colback, Rolando Aarons, Cheikh Tiote, Paul Dummett, Sylvain Marveaux, and Papiss Cisse are all hoping to return to fitness. Craig Good, Emmanuel Riviere, and Massadio Haidara are still a few weeks away from recovery though, whilst Steven Taylor won’t be back until December. This makes Newcastle the most injury hit team in the league at the moment.

Sunderland vs West Ham – Sat 3rd Oct – 15:00

Jack Rodwell’s foot injury should be fully healed in time for him to face West Ham, whereas Adam Matthews is expected to be sidelined until the end of the month.

Andy Carroll and Winston Reid should be fit in time to face Sunderland. Angelo Ogbonna is a few weeks off though, whilst Enner Valencia and Alex Song will be sidelined for the majority of October.

Norwich vs Leicester – Sat 3rd Oct – 15:00

Norwich have no new injury concerns to deal with, with Gary Hooper and Youssouff Mulumbu still recovering from their foot injuries. Hooper is expected to be back in the middle of the month, but Mulumbu’s fractured metatarsal will keep him out for a week or so longer.

Nathan Dyer should have recovered from his goalscoring related injury in time for the trip to Norwich. Matthew James is the only other injury problem for the visitors, with his ACL injury keeping him out until February.

Bournemouth vs Watford – Sat 3rd Oct – 15:00

Bournemouth perhaps have the most damaging injuries of any team in the Premier League. Callum Wilson sustained a serious looking knee injury last weekend to put a halt to his good for, and he joins expensive summer signings Max Gradel and Tyrone Mings on the sidelines, with none of them expected back until at least April. Harry Arter still hasn’t featured since the end of last season, and his return has been pushed back again to the middle of October.

Same old, same old for Watford. Lloyd Doyley and Joel Ekstrand are both still missing for an unknown amount of time. But they haven’t sustained any new injuries since the start of the season, which is definitely something to be proud about.

Aston Villa vs Stoke – Sat 3rd Oct – 15:00

Gary Gardner and Jores Okore will miss the whole of October as Tim Sherwood doesn’t want to rush them back into action. Gabby Agbonlahor and Jose Crespo are both doubtful for Stoke’s visit, but should be back by next weekend.

Xherdan Shaqiri and Marc Wilson are both hoping to have recovered from minor knocks in time for Saturday’s game. Ryan Shawcross is the only other injury problem, with his back surgery ruling him out for a few months.

Chelsea vs Southampton – Sat 3rd Oct – 17:45

Thibaut Courtois is Chelsea’s only injury related absentee, with his knee injury keeping him out until Christmas. Diego Costa will also serve the last game of his suspension.

Southampton are slowly recovering from the injury crisis that they came into the season with, and new signing Jordy Clasie could make his debut on Saturday. Floring Gardos and Fraser Forster won’t be back in action for a while though, with bad knee injuries keeping them out for most of the season.

Everton vs Liverpool – Sun 4th Oct – 13:30

Everton come into the Merseyside derby in bad shape injury wise. John Stones, Seamus Coleman, and Muhamed Besic are all doubtful for Sunday’s early kickoff. Tom Cleverley will be out for a few more weeks after rolling his ankle against Spurs. Tony Hibbert and Stephen Pienaar won’t be back until the start of November, and Leighton Baines will follow them back on the pitch in the middle of November.

Christian Benteke is doubtful for Liverpool’s short journey. Dejan Lovren and Roberto Firmino won’t be back for a few weeks though. Captain Jordan Henderson is out for even longer, with it looking like the end of November for the central midfielder. Jon Flanagan won’t be back until December following the series of knee injuries he sustained last season.

Swansea vs Tottenham Hotspur – Sun 4th Oct – 16:00

Swansea have a clean bill of health, so kudos to them. Tottenham Hotspur haven’t been so lucky though. Heung-Min Son, Ryan Mason, Nassim Bentaleb, and Moussa Dembele are all fighting for fitness, but not expected back until the middle of the month.

Arsenal vs Manchester United – Sun 4th Oct – 16:00

The standard central midfield injury crisis has already hit Arsenal. Mathieu Flamini and Mikel Arteta have joined Jack Wilshere and Tomas Rosicky in the physio’s office, with none of them expected back until at least the middle of the month. Laurent Koscielny’s hamstring injury will keep him out for most of the month, whilst Danny Welbeck’s knee injury could keep him out until March.

Michael Carrick should recover from a slight knock in time for the trip to the Emirates, but Marcos Rojo and Ander Herrera will miss a few games. Luke Shaw is the only long term absentee, with his double leg break keeping him out until March after having successful surgery on it.
