Graham Potter’s plucky Seagulls swooped in for three points at high flying Villa last weekend, though Albion’s chances of securing back-to-back victories look slim when defending champions Liverpool visit the AMEX Stadium.

  • Brighton have scored in the second half in seven of their first nine Premier League fixtures this season.
  • Liverpool have found the net in the second period in eight of their opening nine Premier League fixtures this term.
  • Goals were scored in the second half in five of the last six meetings between Brighton and Liverpool.

Everton vs Leeds

Two of the Premier League’s keenest tactical minds – Carlo Ancelotti and Marcelo Bielsa – face off as newly promoted Leeds travel to Goodison Park to take on Everton.

  • Only Liverpool (11) have conceded more first half goals than Leeds (10) so far this season.
  • Leeds would rank third from bottom if Premier League matches finished at half time this term.
  • Leeds have been either drawing or losing at half time in 100% of their first four Premier League away assignments this season.

Southampton vs Manchester United

Ralph Hasenhüttl’s super Saints are in the midst of a proper purple patch, and Southampton will be targeting another big-name scalp when they welcome an inconsistent Man Utd team to St. Mary’s Stadium on Sunday.

  • Hard-hitting Spaniard Oriol Romeu is the most carded Southampton player in the league this season (three).
  • Only three Saints players have averaged more fouls per Premier League game than Romeu since the summer.
  • Romeu is top of the pile at Southampton for average tackles made per appearance however (3.7).

Chelsea vs Tottenham Hotspur

The student takes on the master in London on Sunday, as former colleagues Frank Lampard and Jose Mourinho prepare to go to war from opposing dugouts at Stamford Bridge.

  • A goal was scored inside 15 minutes in each of the two Premier League meetings between Chelsea and Spurs last season.
  • Tottenham have scored more goals inside the opening 25 minutes (8) than any other Premier League club this term.
  • Chelsea hit the net inside 27 minutes in each of their last three Premier League fixtures.

Arsenal vs Wolves

An Arsenal team in a real slump face another test of their brittle confidence against a Wolves team renowned for their ability to rise to the big occasion.

  • Arsenal have only score one first half goal in four Premier League matches at the Emirates this season.
  • Just three of Arsenal’s nine league goals this season were scored in the first half of their matches overall.
  • Four of the six goals notched in Wolves’ last three away assignments were registered after the interval.
