Roger Federer 11/4 To Win 9th Wimbledon Title

Wimbledon is just around the corner and the excitement is building around SW19, not only for the players but the fans. The “Big Four” have won every Wimbledon title since 2003 and the absence of 2-time champion Andy Murray from the singles competition will be music to the ears of Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer this year.

The gap is closing between the “big four” and the field however and we have also identified five outsiders who could go far at Wimbledon this year.

Roger Federer

Federer may be ageing, but his hunger and desire to win titles hasn’t changed, the 37 year old Swiss ace has won three titles already this season, including the Halle Open for the 10th time last week in preparation for Wimbledon.

The former world number one has the highest win % on grass in the field at 87.44% and with eight Wimbledon titles to his name already we have backed Roger to win his 9th Wimbledon crown as our main Wimbledon tip.

Novak Djokovic

Djokovic has been installed as the bookmakers favourite to win his 5th Wimbledon title and it’s not hard to see why, the Serbian is the defending champion here and has been dominated the grand slam tournaments over the past 12 months winning 3 of the 4 major’s in that period.

Djokovic is a 4-time champion at SW19 and has the second best win rate of everyone in the field at 83.02%. If Djokovic is near his best he will be hard to stop again this year. Djokovic does however have a tricky draw with some dangerous players standing his way where as Federer doesn’t face anyone dangerous until at least the 4th round.

Rafael Nadal

Known as more of a clay court specialist, Rafael Nadal is a two-time Wimbledon champion and is entering this year’s championships in sublime form. The Spaniard is on a twelve game winning streak after he bagged both the Italian Masters and French Open titles back-to-back.

Nadal has largely struggled with injury throughout his career and that has really hindered him here but after only being edged out of a place in the final last year and coming into this tournament in great form, Nadal looks in his best shape to add a 3rd Wimbledon title to his collection however with a tricky draw and question marks still over his fitness, this could be a step too far against the elite of Djokovic and Federer on grass.
