Rugby Summer International Test Series predictions + 13/1 accumulator

The Summer Rugby Internationals kick off on Saturday morning in the last installment of the northern hemisphere’s season. All four sides head out on a three game test series which will either end their season on a high or give them something to think about over the summer.

Wales face the toughest task away to the world champions with England looking to reset against Australia after a poor Six Nations. We also take a look at Ireland’s trip to New Zealand and Scotland’s clashes with Argentina.

Don’t forget, we’ll also have accumulators and best bets for each set of matches throughout the test series on our rugby tips page

Back all our selections in this 13/1 Rugby International Test Series accumulator!

New Zealand vs Ireland

Best Bet: New Zealand to win the series 2-1

The All Blacks are playing their first tests since a tough Autumn tour losing away to both Ireland and France.

New Zealand are facing some adversity already with COVID spreading across the camp, ruling out regular starters David Havili, Jack Goodhue and Will Jordan as well as head coach Ian Foster and many of his staff. This has added a new angle to the series with the New Zealand born coach that took Ireland to world number one in 2019, Joe Schmidt, being brought in to steady the ship.

Ireland however are able to call upon the majority of the players that played against the All Blacks in November. They also have three wins in the last five against them and picked up the Triple Crown in the Six Nations winning four of the five games, only losing to the world number two, France.

New Zealand will still be a force to be reckoned with but Ireland should be able to clinch a win in one of the three tests.

Australia vs England

Best Bet: England to win the series 2-1

Australia and England are both coming off spells of poor form. Australia lost away to both Wales and Scotland in the Autumn, whilst England have had back to back poor Six Nations performances finishing fifth in 2021 and third in 2022.

Eddie Jones is leaving the position of England head coach after the 2023 World Cup so all his focus is on building to try and lift the Webb Ellis trophy. Jones has restored a wealth of experience to his squad with Billy & Mako Vunipola and Danny care coming back in with a combined 212 caps.

This will be a very tightly contested series but I am picking England to win the series 2-1.

Wales vs South Africa

Best Bet: South Africa to win the series 3-0

The current world number one South Africa host Wales this summer and have full capacity stadiums for the first time since before COVID.

Wales had a very poor Six Nations by their standards finishing fifth and even losing to Italy at home for the first time since the tournament was formed. It’s not just the national team struggling either, as the Welsh club sides had no representation in the URC play-offs with three South African teams making it in with two in the final.

This is why I can see a tough trip for Wales ending in a 3-0 South Africa win.

Argentina vs Scotland

Best Bet: Argentina to win the series

Scotland had a very up and down six nations with the highs of retaining the Calcutta Cup but still losing 3 out of the 5 games. Gregor Townsend is also looking to give players the chance to step up in the squad as he has chosen to leave experienced players Finn Russell, Stuart Hogg and Chris Harris at home.

Argentina have a wealth of experience in the squad with stars from across Europe being selected such as Julián Montoya, Juan Imhoff and Santiago Cordero.

With the weaker Scotland squad and Argentina under the new leadership of Michael Cheika, Argentina should win this series.
