Saturday’s Star-Struck accumulator
Aston Villa vs Wolves (Premier League, 15:00)
Best bet – Aston Villa to win
Wolves may have hit some form over the last month or so but they are yet to beat a team not currently in the bottom six and they could be dealt a setback when they visit nearby rivals Aston Villa on Saturday.
Villa are unbeaten at home with seven points from a possible nine and they have conceded just one goal in these three matches. Wolves, meanwhile, have scored just five times in seven games and manager Bruno Lage is still struggling with injuries, with Pedro Neto, Jonny and Francisco Trincao all sidelined this weekend.
Manchester City vs Burnley (Premier League, 15:00)
Best bet – Manchester City -2 handicap
Burnley fans are making their annual pilgrimage to the Etihad this weekend with the expectation they will be dealt yet another thrashing at the hands of the reigning Premier League champions.
The Clarets have conceded 30 goals in their last eight meetings with City and have lost 5-0 in four consecutive trips to the Etihad. Pep Guardiola’s side have scored 22 goals in their five competitive home games this season and with Sean Dyche’s men losing by at least two goals in their last six visits to City another more-than-comfortable win could be on the cards for the home team.
Lyon vs Monaco (Ligue 1, 20:00)
Best bet – Both teams to score
We could be in for a thriller at the Groupama Stadium on Saturday night as Lyon host Monaco.
Both sides have managed just a single clean sheet in nine matches this season and there hasn’t been a clean sheet in any of Lyon’s last five Ligue 1 outings. Monaco have scored 13 goals in their last six league fixtures, while Lyon have managed the same total over a seven-game period.
