Back Steve Palmer's 81,718/1 acca for all 4 Golf Majors in 2024!

Picking out the winner in each of the four majors is the holy grail when it comes to golf betting and for 2024 we’ve recruited Racing Post golf expert Steve Palmer for his early tips for the four biggest events on the gold calendar.

He’s picked out a winner for each of the four majors, starting with the US Masters in April and concluding with the 151th edition of The Open at Royal Troon in July, and the result is this huge 81,718/1 accumulator.

You can view his selections and back the bet below, and remember each-way bets are available covering the top four places.

When are the four 2024 golf Majors?

The four golf Majors take place on the following dates:

The Masters – Augusta National Golf Course, 11-14 April, 2024

PGA Championship – Valhalla Golf Club, 16-19 May, 2024

US Open – Pinehurst Resort & Country Club, 13-16 June, 2024

The Open – Royal Troon, 18-21 July, 2024

Steve Palmer’s 81,718/1 acca for the four 2024 golf Majors

The Masters winner prediction: Scottie Scheffler

Scottie Scheffler will have been thrilled with his victory in the Hero World Challenge at the start of last month and working with a new putting coach (Phil Kenyon) on his stroke has resulted in immediate improvement. With confidence returning on the greens, Scheffler could prove the man to beat at Augusta in April, where he boasts form figures of 19-18-1-10.

PGA Championship winner prediction: Rory McIlroy

Rory McIlroy has a fantastic record in the US PGA, including two victories, one of which came at the venue being used this year. A return to Valhalla may be all the little master needs to end his Majors drought. His last Major was won at Valhalla in the 2014 US PGA.

US Open winner prediction: Dustin Johnson

Dustin Johnson, fully established on the LIV circuit having been one of the first to sign up, is usually a force to be reckoned with in the US Open. He was second in 2015 before winning in 2016, and has seven top-ten finishes to his name in the event, including one last year. DJ tied for fourth place in the last US Open at Pinehurst and can win a third Major title there in June.

The Open winner prediction: Xander Schauffele

Xander Schauffele can perform the anchor leg at Royal Troon. He was second in the 2018 Open at Carnoustie, then won the 2022 Scottish Open. Four of his six Open appearances have resulted in top-20 finishes and he clearly loves links golf. His full record competing in Scotland is 2-10-1-17-42 and he should fall in love with Troon. Six of the last seven Open champions at Troon have been American.

There are a few points to consider before placing this bet. Bookmakers will not allow you to pick a player multiple times – for example, if you put McIlroy in your acca for the Masters, he cannot be used for any of the other three Majors. However, seven of the last eight seasons have passed without multiple Major champions – with Brooks Koepka the last man to do a double in 2018 with the PGA and US Open – so the acca wager is worth risking. Punters should also be aware of maximum payout restrictions and decide on their stake accordingly.
